I brought a pair of diamond earring to Swinford Jewelers to have the backs changed from screw backs to locking clutch protector backs. I picked the earrings up after one month service time and they were the wrong earrings. (Significantly smaller in carat size) After the front desk worker tried to wrongfully convince me that I was given the correct earrings, the owner (Stanley Swinford) finally admitted that there was a switch, and he would correct it. I returned to Swinford Jewelers within a couple of days, switched the diamond earrings, and was given the "correct" diamond earrings. The owner, Stanley, reassured me that these were my original earrings. The earrings were shipped to a third party for the repair work. This information was not shared until I kept asking further questions. The owner reimbursed myself for the repair work and inconvenience of the situation; only after being asked by myself. I also asked for the cost of a new appraisal to be covered, at a different jewelry store, so I could validate my correct earrings. The owner denied paying for a new appraisal from an outside jewelry store. I brought the earrings to "Jared," (they use a third party called Heritage Appraisers) and paid $150 for a new appraisal. The appraisal indicates that the earrings I was returned are not my original/correct earrings. Attached are files of the current appraisal and my previous appraisal from 2017, which happens to be from Stanley Swinford of Swinford Jewelers himself. The overall carat size does not match between the two appraisals. In 2017, total carat of the earrings is 1.50 ct, estimated value of $7200. Currently, total carat of the earrings is 1.37 ct, estimate value of $3554. The rest of the appraisal matches (including color, cut, clarity). In conclusion, I believe Mr. Swinford returned the wrong earrings to myself. I believe they were stolen at the third party shop, and he is covering up the mistake by returning a "similar" pair of earrings to me.

***** ***** mixed up the job and returned different earrings, different mounting style, different stone size.. Customer pointed out the mistake and we contacted ***** *****, correct earrings were returned the next day. Our Store had supplied an appraisal in 2017 based on stone diameter (estimated weight) and triple keystone mark up for insurance purposes. We refunded the repair cost of $160 for the work as a gesture of good will. At no time did I or anyone at Swinford Jewelers attempt to conceal the mistake or mislead the customer. We are confident the original earrings were returned to **** ******.
