RE: Customer Experience Complaint ID No. ********
To Whom It May Concern:
This communication is in response to your letter dated August 26, 2022 regarding a customer experience complaint filed by ****** *********, with complaint ID No. ********.
While we disagree with *** *********** factual description, please be assured that ****** ***** **** ******* *****), which purchased the Erlanger operations of Elovations Services Group LLC,
d to providing the highest quality of services to our customers and users, and take feedback on our services seriously. To that end, we have conducted a thorough investigation regarding the matter described in *** *********** complaint.
According to our records, *** ********* listed an item for sale on **** and described the item as an "Antique Damascus Ceremonial Kris Knife w/ Intricately Carved Handle." Upon sale of the item in question to an international buyer on or about August 14th, *** ********* shipped the item through the Global Shipping Program (GSP) offered by ****. In this program, **** hires ****** ***** to provide international transportation services to deliver items sold by **** sellers, like *** *********, on behalf of buyers. In other words, to be clear, ****** ***** owes service obligations to **** and the buyers. Amongst those obligations, solely for certain dangerous goods or goods restricted by customs regulations, ****** ***** reviews and inspects parcels shipped by GSP sellers to ensure that prohibited goods are not transported in violation of safety and trade rules and regulations. Here, in her listing on ****, *** ********* specifically described the knife as to contain "Carved 3-D Natural material or bone," which is a restricted material under trade regulations. Upon further review, the knife sold by *** ********* was indeed determined by our parcel processing specialist to contain materials that are restricted from exportation under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). As such, in accordance with GSP's export review procedures, the item in question was processed for liquidation and the buyer was fully refunded immediately on or about August 19th while *** ********* retained all of the proceeds from the sales transaction.
****** *****
In working with ****, we have confirmed that **** considers the matter to have been resolved with *** *********, requiring no further action on ****** *****' part.
We appreciate your support and advocacy in consumer protection as we continue to maintain our highest standards for providing the best customer and user experiences.
Sincerely, Paul Fairbrother
