Shannon S***** with Whole Lot Sweeter agreed to make 120 cookies for me to use as wedding favors. Wedding is this week. Cookies were due to me on 7/21/24 since day one. I never received my cookies; only excuses. I found her through a ** wedding page and locked her down early so I would not have to worry as it got closer, yet I ended up having to scramble to find someone new last minute. And she has failed to give me a full refund in a timely manner. I paid her half ($152.64) on 1/27/24 through her business ***** account. Though her contract said that the balance was due on 6/21/24, she reached out to me to pay the balance on 4/21/24. I paid her another $152.64 through ****** on 4/22/24, then sent $35 on 6/20 via her son’s ***** account due to a change I made. Per her contract, we were supposed to meet on July 12 for me to deliver her a swatch color and the custom stamp for the cookie. She made an excuse as to why she couldn’t show and switched the day to Sunday July 14. When I confirmed the day of, she canceled again with a bs excuse. I chased her down for a date and she finally agreed to get the items from me the night before they were due. I ended up telling her I would do the stamp myself and sent a picture of the swatch on 7/20. She said it was perfect. I agreed to meet for her to deliver the cookies on 7/21 at 5:30pm at an agreed upon location. I confirmed that morning. She didn’t show. We waited 1/2 hour. I called & messaged. No response. Hours later she replied saying she fell asleep. I don’t even think she made the cookies. I requested for her to refund me on 7/21 since I had to start looking for someone else last minute. She said she needed to contact her bank 7/22. I said I needed by 10am since she always puts me off. She has not refunded me. She will just put me off as long as she can and I have no faith that she will refund me. BEWARE! Also, don’t send money to her son’s account. At least you can dispute if it’s a business account. She owes me $340.28.Business response

I would give Shannon zero stars if I could. My wedding was in 6/15/24. I had an originally had a family baker for our wedding treats but our venue required someone who was insured for liability purposes. I found Shannon, she was quick to help but 3pm came on 6/15 and my coordinator notified me that no one could reach Shannon, totally MIA for our desserts - we called every number we had, FB messaged her, etc - NOTHING. Shannon was paid in FULL 3 months prior. Still has my money and I'm sure it's going to be a fight to get it back. Terrible excuse for a business. WOULD NEVER RECCOMEND WORKING WITH, ever.Initial Complaint

In early January i was contacting local bakers to inquire about a gender reveal cake for my sister when i found Whole lot Sweeter. I Paid for the cake on January 19 and when February came for me to pick up she had to cancel the same day for a last minute family emergency, which i was totally understanding. I let a few months pass before following up regarding a refund. It has been nothing but back and forth since March. She refuses to refund me my money for a cake i was never given. It’s been nothing but excuses for months now and I don’t think I’ll ever get my money back.Initial Complaint

I booked my daughter’s wedding cake with Shannon (owner) a year ago. She had to reschedule the tasting box, no biggie, we picked another day. I text her 2 weeks before the wedding to confirm and I couldn’t reach her, I was blocked. I reached her through fb messenger and she confirmed and gave me another number. Fast forward to wedding day, she text me and said she was stuck in traffic and would be late for set up. She showed up late, set everything up and told a wedding guest that the cake was leaning and for me to call her and she would make it right. While we were taking wedding pics after ceremony the caterer came and got us and said we need to cut the cake now it’s falling. They kindly propped it up with paper plates til everyone was announced into the reception. We had to rearrange the DJ order to get the falling cake cut. I have been texting with Shannon for two weeks for her to make it right. She said she would refund a portion. She has given me every excuse, changed contact info 4x, blocked me and told me she sent the refund when she never did. I would not risk your special day on this lady. I understand things happen, but do what you say you are going to do.Business response

The customer was not blocked. My number changed from the original number she had a year ago, which I had given her BOTH of my new numbers in which we had been communicating on non stop. I was always able to still communicate however even though my number had changed because we would message through ******** which used my ****** email. Again the customer was never blocked and I have all the messages and correspondence to show that. On the day of the wedding, yes I was later than the original time of setup by 30 minutes because there was an accident on the highway. I explained that, communicated and have photos of the traffic backup that day. I arrived and set up the cake, I had already given 3 dozen extra cupcakes than what the customer ordered out of kindness because they booked so early with me. The cake was leaning some in which after I set up, I told one of the woman to have **** contact me because I wanted to offer a percentage of the money back (not a full refund). We have a contract as well and once the cake is set up and something happens due to weather etc it is out of my hands. However I wanted to do a nice gesture in which I offered a percentage of a refund , the customer never asked. I stated the refund process takes time and it’s a processing timeframe. The customer kept calling, sending extremely rude messages, and not adhering to my policy as a business. Again I will refund her a percentage as I stated to her.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.I still haven’t received a refund. It’s has been 2 weeks. It doesn’t take that long to send refund via ******. I keep getting excuse after excuse. The weather was 58 degrees and had nothing to do with the cake falling. She left knowing the cake was leaning. She said the middle layer got warm. I have not sent nasty messages, only being honest. This must be her pattern as she told me the same things she told the previous compliant in 02/24. I tried to reach her again before typing this post and no response. There was no contract to abide by. Shannon does not do what she says and I would not recommend her to anyone.

Shannon (owner) was supposed to make me a wedding tasting box including 4 cake flavors, 2 donuts, filling and frosting. Also an additional 3 donuts that I paid for separately. The scheduled date for delivery was 2/11. I paid a total of 84.54. An hour before the deliver was supposed to be here, she cancelled. We rescheduled for 2/17 at 12pm. On 12/17 the morning of I texted a few times to confirm the drop off, and did not get a response until almost 12:30. I did not receive my products. I was then told I would receive my refund by Wednesday 2/21 at the latest via *****. 2/22 I reached out due to not receiving the refund and she said that her ***** was hacked and should be back up by 2/23. On 2/23 I reached out again, and she said still that I had to wait. 2/24 she stated that if they still hadn’t fixed it she would send me a refund via *******, ***** ***, *****, or another option so I wouldn’t have to keep waiting. 2/25 I reached out to request the refund again and have not heard back from her.
