I bought a used 2018 F150 on 4/22/21, it had 53,482 miles registered on the odometer. With the purchase of the vehicle I also financed the extended warranty up to 120,000 miles, bumper to bumper powertrain. The warranty company they use is called Premier Dealer Services. About a month ago I started feeling vibrations in what I thought was the transmission. I have tried recently to get into Ford dealerships for service for a couple other items and was told it would be 3-4 weeks before they could look at it and I was to leave my truck, with no courtesy vehicle in exchange. I reached out to the warranty company to see what I could do. They stated that if I went to a shop that would work with them, provide an analysis of the problem and get a pre-authorization they could work with them. I did a search and found a transmission shop nearby and received confirmation they would work with them and dropped off the truck. The shop confirmed the transmission was bad and it would have to be replaced. At the time, that was all I was expecting to have to do. I am being told by the warranty company and the dealership they are willing to only pay for a portion of the diagnosed repair, the rest will come out of my pocket. The shop is stating that it is best practices to replace the whole transmission as opposed to replacing just housing and torque converter. This is due to metal shavings already loosed in transmission causing potentially unseen ancillary damage. I bought the warranty in good faith and claims by the sales person stating the service was bumper to bumper, no hassle, just like new. I did not know I'd have to wait for an adjuster to come out and be without a car for going on a month. The warranty company covers 5 days on a rental up to $25 a day. The dealership is wiping their hands of it and claiming no responsibility or harm. I would in no way suggest anyone purchase anything from this dealership.
