My roof was destroyed during the wind storms in Jamestown, Ky in March of 2023. It was proclaimed as a state of emergency. I provided all information, estimates, and pictures they required. I unfortunately had to contact an attorney and still have no roof or gutters. That doesn’t count other items damaged that I’m not as concerned about. There’s a storm here tonight and rain is pouring in my house causing more damage. They dropped my insurance without notification and I had to pay extra to get homeowners insurance because of the gap. It’s not an obscene claim, it is only a little over $15,000. I can’t afford it but that’s what my insurance was for and I never missed a payment. It was escrowed into my home loan.Business response

The claim ********** was reported to Kentucky Growers on March 6, 2023. We sent an independent adjuster, ***** ****** of N***** ******** ********** to assess the cause and extent of the damage. His report and claim documentation will be included with this letter for your review (There may be some sensitive information included with that report; Please edit accordingly). Based on our investigation, the adjuster found wind damaged shingles on the right end slope and the front and back of the two-story hip roof. No storm related damages were found to any other roof slopes. We estimated to replace the right end slope plus the entire two-story hip roof. The total gross loss of the claim came to $9,334.12. Depreciation based on the age of the shingles of $1,114.47 was subtracted as well as the policy deductible of $1,000. There was also an allowance made for a trampoline damaged by wind. The total net claim payment came to $7,142.65. Check No. ****** was issued and mailed on April 27, 2023.
The Underwriting Department deemed the policy "Does not meet current underwriting requirements with this Company." A letter was mailed on April 6, 2023, to the insured explaining that the policy would be cancelled effective May 6, 2023.
