      Go auto insured a vehicle that I drive that is under a trust for a year plus while trying to renew today I found out they can't and aren't supposed to insure the vehicle since it's not under my name. So they stole money from me over the past year with full knowledge they would not cover the vehicle if a claim were to be filed. I can provide the policies if requested. I will search for them and copy them.

      Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2022/07/21) */ Policy# XXXXXX was issued effective June 5, 2021 and expired on 12/12/2021. The policy was issued with a 2007 Dodge Ram Pickup VIN ID7HAXXXXXSXXXXXX. Once the purchase of the policy was complete you signed all required documents, which included a True/False section. On page two of the application you marked the box True for the statement "My spouse and I are the registered owners of each listed vehicle on this application". On December 2, 2021, you renewed for your second term, XXXXXX-XX, no changes were made therefore signed paperwork was not needed. The policy expired on 06/13/2022 and was not renewed until 06/21/2022. It was brought to our customer service representative's attention on 06/21/2022 that the 2007 Dodge Ram Pickup is a company vehicle registered in your father's business. When adding a vehicle to your policy the vehicle must be in you and/or your spouse's name. Seeing how vehicle has now been placed in your father's business name we will no longer be able to extend coverage.

      MADE PAYMENT ON MY POLICY 3/19 VIA NEW BANK ACCOUNT. 2 DAYS LATER I RECEIVED AN ALERT FROM MY BANK THAT THE PAYMENT WAS RETURNED. CHATTED WITH A REP (DEBRA) AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND IF I CAN JUST GO AHEAD AND REPLACE THE PAYMENT. SHE STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT TAKE THE PAYMENT AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE PAYMENT WAS RETURNED TO THEM AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL OR PHONE THAT THE PAYMENT HAD CAME BACK AND THEN I COULD REPLACE THE PAYMENT. I THEN ASKED HER IF THERE WILL BE A LAPSE IN MY INSURANCE ( NEVADA HAD STRICT FINES FOR LAPSES) AND SHE STATED NO AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TIME TO REPLACE THE PAYMENT BEFORE THE POLICY WOULD LAPSE. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM SO ON THE 25TH I REACHED OUT TO GO AUTO AND WAS HIT WITH THAT MY POLICY CANCELLED AND NOW I HAVE A LAPSE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY CANCELLATION FEES AND REINSTATEMENT FEES. SPOKE TO TO MR. J TILLMAN WHO IS SUPPOSE TO BE TO A MANAGER AND HE TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO GET A LETTER FROM MY BANK STATING THAT IT WAS AN ERROR ON THEIR PART WHICH I DID GET. THEY REFUSED TO TAKE THE LETTER AND J TILLMAN HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND SHOULD NOT BE DEALING WITH PEOPLE HE BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT NEEDED TO STOP CALLING AND THEY(GO AUTO) HAD SPENT TOO MUCH TIME DEALING WITH THE MATTER. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN IM AM THE CUSTOMER AND I AM TRYING TO GET A SITUATION RESOLVED. NOW TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NEVADA DMV STATING THAT I HAVE TO PAY A FINE OF $250 PER CAR (2 ON POLICY) AND I AM SUBJECT TO HAVING MY REGISTRATION SUSPENDED. ITS NOT RIGHT. I DID MY PART AS A CUSTOMER BY TRYING TO FIX THE SITUATION AND ALL I HAVE GOTTEN WAS ATTITUDE AND GRIEF. THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS WRONG AND UNFAIR

      Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/06/01) */ Upon my review of these documents along with the letter from Ms. ******'s bank, I have come to the conclusion that the above-mentioned payment was returned in error. To correct the fines this has created for Ms. ****** at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, I have removed the lapse that the returned payment caused on her automobile insurance policy number XXXXXXX-XX, refunded the $47.00 in fees paid to reinstate the policy, and our Underwriting Manager is in the process of confirming the removal of the lapse with the NV DMV. I spoke to Ms. ****** on May 19, 2022, and I was able to explain to her what I discovered during my research of all of the bank documents she sent to our company. I discussed with her all the corrections that I have made to her policy to correct this challenge in her favor. Please feel free to reach out to me should you have any questions or need any further information.       I went in to a local go auto insurance office to buy a policy for my car on May 4th, 2022. I made a payment for $300 to start my policy. Later in the same day, i checked around and found a better price with a different company. So I went ahead and purchased a policy with the other company thinking i could just cancel my go auto policy the next day and get a refund minus any charges for the 1 day of coverage. I canceled my go auto policy on May 5th and was told my down payment was non refundable because of incurred fees for early termination, but i only had the policy for 1 day. No where in my declaration page or anywhere, does it say anything about early termination fees, nor did anyone tell me. I don't think i should lose all of the money i gave upfront for services i did not use.

After hearing him and realizing the facts and circumstances surrounding his challenge, I agreed with Mr. *** and refunded all of the money he had paid us minus the MVR fee which we had actually been charged and had paid to a third party. It is my desire that should Mr. *** ever find that he is in need of auto insurance again, he will consider giving GoAuto a second chance.
