I am a merchant who was sold an antique piece from this place. They did not disclose the extent of the damage on the piece. When I had it looked over by an expert it was revealed that the piece was damage (denting, splitting from gold) and the expert was unable to repair it without the repairs being noticeable. I could not resell this piece because of this and requested to return it after it was reviewed. I had the item less than 30 days while it was in review. I notified the merchant immediately when I was told by the experts of the condition. They initially acted like they would take it back, but then when calling the owner I was basically told to suck it up. The item was $8,500! No way I could resell above that or even at that with its condition. I was forced to do charge backs. I got all my money except $600. I have been waiting for the merchant to give back the remaining amount so I can return his bracelet. No only are they not honest about the condition of their pieces, but he is dishonest with the dispute. And also tried to gain access to my bank account by using my card numbers which is fraud! I was notified by the bank and was forced to cancel and get new cards. He then started stalking my business page. Claiming I was still selling the bracelet because I left the photos up. I left them up because the upload is a time stamp of when the item was received! This business is not worth the headache. The owners are not honest, and if you have things checked by experts to ensure its quality and fixable to find it's not they don't want you to return it. They knowingly knew this item was in poor shape and were more than happy to sell it to me like so. It was a personal item of the wife's and it shows as it's dinged up on the inside from being thrown around. Merchants beware.

I have a well documented timeline of what actually took place. In short, this person whose actual business is **** ******* LLC in Colorado Springs Co. bought the item ,an approx. 140 year old bracelet, off our website in Nov. 2021; We allowed her 3 months to pay which she did on 3 different credit cards. She rec'd and signed for the cameo bracelet on 2-15-22. She immediately put pics and a video along with glowing remarks on her Instagram site. On 3-22-22, some 5 weeks after she had rec 'd the bracelet, she called and demanded we accept her return and refund her money. I asked for an explanation and she said her "experts " said it was damaged beyond any hope of repair. I explained that normal procedure for returns is to return the item to the seller and he would normally refund the purchase price. Her reply was that she would only return it if I produced a letter to the effect that she was not responsible for any damage and that I would return her money. When I said that was impossible, she replied that she would simply do Charge-Backs on her CC's.She did this and on completion ,she returned the item . ( I would guess it requires
about $ 100. in repairs (which were acquired when the bracelet was in her possession.
Please note Barker's Antique Jewelry ,of which I am co-owner along with my wife, has been in business for over 50 years, has an excellent Credit Rating and ,I truly believe, a well-earned good reputation. The review she sent is full, of un-truths , exaggerations and basic lies. I have no idea why Ms ****** has taken this path, but she sure knows how to "play the system".Virtually every claim in her "Review" is not true.. Her claims of Fraud are untrue. The dispute forms supplied to the merchant contain the CC number and issuing bank name and the merchant is advised to contact the issuing institutions. This has been a 6 month battle for truth and justice for

***** ******, and his son **** ****** not only harassed me daily, but talked my page, made threats, and wrote profanity's to me in such a show of unprofessionalism when notified of returning their item that was not in good condition. I have several emails to confirm. They are LUCKY I have chosen not to go on their google to post the emails of **** ****** writing ***** ****" in email. Or the other various emails this company sent to me because they refused to be professional at all.

I would warn any company to not work with them. I have worked with several dealers and have never had this problem because HONEST dealers disclose the damage on their piece before you purchase. It is documented and shown before sale. barkers antiques deliberately mislead me, deliberately did not disclose the damage and deliberately lied to the card company. They got their piece BACK just as they sent it said it was satisfactory and STILL managed to bombarde me with emails on Mother's Day (**** ******) over taking down photos I have that I TOOK. The photos have nothing on there saying the item is for sale. I keep all photography of pieces I have sold or have acquired. The photo is paired with other items I have sold already.

These people are not only unprofessional but are stalkers. You are warned. And if they don't leave me alone I WILL post their emails on their google review as proof of how they are unprofessional!

For reasons unknown to me this person seems to be on a personal vendetta against a me and my store. I would invite anyone interested to visit our Social Media sites (such as Instagram ,Facebook ,etc. and draw your own conclusions..
Barker's has been in business over 50 years, has a Credit Rating of 818, and a great reputation in Louisiana and the USA.
The "customer" received her LLC credentials from the state of Colorado, 2 days before proceeding with her apparent scheme to defraud Barker's.
This is the only credit card charge-back we have ever been involved in. It's been a real "learning experience" . We are currently reviewing our previously very liberal credit card procedures.
