They charged me ~$750 to fix my generator. When they were done they were sure it was fixed. I was about to leave and as soon as I tried to start the generator, it died and has the same issue I brought it in for. Not only that, but my $300 generator auto start circuit board was fried during the repair, even though they state they had nothing to do with it. It worked just fine until they worked on it. I took it to another dealership, and they stated that The RV Shop connected the AutoStart Circuit to the wrong wires which fried it. So now I am out the money, still have the same situation with my generator, and now have a new board to replace. These guys take responsibility for their actions. They never even returned my calls when I tried to work this out.Business response

Customer brought his unit in as it was not running very long. We diagnosed the unit, found the water pump pulley was loose. We tightened the pulley and ran the generator for about a hour to verify it was not overheating. The auto gen box is mounted under the dash of the coach. It is not near the generator where we worked. The auto gen did burn up, but it was after the generator was running, and the coach was being pulled around to the customer to leave with it.
The customer left us a 1 star review, after he left the review, we reached out to him several times, he must have us on a block because it goes straight to voicemail. Even as recently as October we called him again.
We know that nothing we worked on caused this damage, someone else had already worked on the generator when it was brought to us. We have no knowledge of who or what was done.

I am rejecting this response because:I have not heard anything from the RV shop. They can contact me at ************. I have working voicemail, and am taking calls normally from others.
The generator auto start was indeed in the cabin, but connected to the generator as it was used for the generator. It worked perfectly fine until they worked on it. When they pulled it out and brought it to me, they let me know that it burned up. How they claim they didn't do it, or were not at fault for it makes no sense. Obviously they were working on the generator, when it went out. It worked fine before. So how they can claim that they were not at fault, is beyond me. The shop that eventually replaced this part said it was most likely shorted the two wires inside the generator, when the first shop was inside the generator, and that fried the generator auto start. There was obvious burn marks on the wires that were inside the generator, and they showed me this.
The first shop said the generator worked fine for an hour, but then when they showed me it, it immediately died as they were showing me that "it worked".
I took the generator to another shop and they stated that the pulley needed to be replaced that ran the fan. It was a clutch pulley, and just tightening the belt would not have fixed the issue. So just tightening the belt was not the issue. Obviously the generator needed about an hour to warm up, so that is why the first shop didn't know that the issue was still persistent.
Sincerely,

Re: New Gulf Stream Camper model Ameri Lite delivery date 3/4/2022 Delivery completed when company was told I could not be present and not to deliver on that date. The front right jack was broken on set up. Within first week I learned the microwave didn't work,(using one from home) the shower faucet leaks badly, (myst turn water off at faucet connection outside when not in use) the braces holding up the seats at the table broke on first contact. They were held in place by two small staples each side. Other problems may arise as I use this camper . Service rep **** was notified immediately. She said manufacturer was responsible. Manufacturer said sales company was responsible. Salesman said he would tell his boss. No one has contacted me since. I was also told that if a repair crew came to my location I was responsible for travel fees. On a brand new camper???? I am an elderly citizen who feels she is being taken advantage of.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/14) */ Good Morning Ms. *******, I apologize that you are having issues with your Gulfstream travel trailer. Unfortunately, we do not work on any units in the field, nor do we have a mobile tech that does on-site service. We are more than happy to work on your minor issues here at our dealership. When it comes to manufacturer's warranty, the unit needs to be diagnosed and remedied at an authorized Gulfstream dealer. As stated before, you are more than welcome to bring the trailer back to the dealership and we will remedy all of your minor repairs under the Manufacturer's Warranty. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/04/25) */ The reply from the RV Shop is unacceptable. I shall be contacting an attorney on this matter.
