I was involved in a hit and run, on November 2, 2021, My car was sent to Pit Stop Car Care to be repaired and the same day the owner was advising me he would probably need to do a supplemental claim because the parts for my car were high. The car stayed at the shop so long that my insurance no longer covered the cost of my rental I started to have to pay out of pocket. On December 6th the I was finally advised that my car was ready. I went to pick up the vehicle and it was supposedly being washed at that time to I couldn't examine it also when I got to the car the door was open supposedly so I could just get in and go. After reaching my job that morning I started to notice small issues with the vehicle. My driver car door is jammed and will not open until it gets pulled 3 to 4 times. I noticed that my sideview mirror that was supposed to be repaired/replaced was still scratched and not repaired at all, I noticed that there were no pin stripes on the driver side of my vehicle even though my insurance company was charged for this. My back passenger door does not align, and the front door does not work properly. There is backsplash on the hood of my car and my front headlight no longer works, I reached out to my adjuster and the repair shop, I was skeptical about bringing the car back there and then I notice all of my serial numbers were painted over so I asked for receipts for the new parts that he supposedly purchased, and he refused to show me anything stating that there was no law stating he had to show me. I do not believe these parts have been replaced and my car is not repaired properly. I am asking that an investigation be opened because my car needs to be repaired correctly by someone else reputable and I also need to make sure my insurance company was not scammed.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/20) */ The vehicle was washed and cleaned while the client was waiting to collect her car due to the rain the day before. The client examined her car before delivery, signed the final invoice, made $1,000 deductible payment and collected her vehicle on 12/7/2021 . Two days later, the client contacted us both by phone and email to express the small issues found on her vehicle and we emailed her back to bring her vehicle back to the workshop to correct the issues. Pit Stop Tire and Care care offered for her to cover the cost of the rental vehicle while the issues on her vehicle getting repaired. The client stopped answering her phone and emails. The client requested the repair check to be stopped by the insurance company and another check to be issued in her name. All corresponding emails we have in file. Now Pit Stop stop tire and car care has repaired, delivered the vehicle to the client and the payment of 5,278.89 has not been collected. The insurance company now is also involved because the repair check was stopped by the client request and the insurance company had no idea that the repair had been completed and the client had collected the vehicle from Pit Stop Tire and Car Care. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I contacted my insurance company the same day the vehicle was picked up a d advised them of the issues. They advised me to reach back out to Pit Stop which I did the. very next day and I have proof of everything because everything was handled through text and email. I requested proof of the parts that were purchased because they parts were damaged and all of the serial numbers were painted over. Sam the owner advised me he did not have to show me anything and if I wanted proof to ha e my insurance request it. I then included my insurance adjuster on the email so he can communicate with her directly if he no longer wanted to communicate with me and he refused to send them to her as well. He then sent me an individual email without my adjuster attached saying that I was not telling the truth and that my adjuster didnt request anything and if I wanted anything to have them request documents on letter head. After this I forwarded all of this information to my adjuster and the original check was voided and a new check has been issued so that my car can be repaired properly. The car company can not be trusted a d I would still like proof that the parts for my vehicle were purchased. My insurance company has been involved since the beginning and now so is the board of insurance.
