In March, 2020, we purchased a brand new gate ($2200.00) from Electric Gates & Access Control, PO Box 872, Port Allen 70767, (225) 389-0092, owner, ***** *******. Since then, we have had much trouble getting him to service the product he sold us. Since purchasing, the new gate has malfunctioned 5 times. The last time the gate malfunctioned was on 8.20.22, and we called Monday, 8.22.22, to get it serviced. A technician was sent out and said he thought it was the control board (on a 2 year old gate) and would follow up with us. We did not hear back, so called again on 8.25.22. We were told by the technician that there were no parts available from the manufacturer, so we asked to speak to the owner, ***** to see next steps. ***** was extremely rude regarding the issue and ended up hanging up on us. When he finally called back, we were told it was the control board again, not the batteries, as they had been checked, and that he would call the manufacturer to see what our options were. This was on 8.26.22 and we have not heard back from him yet. It is now 9.15.22. ***** has taken zero interest or accountability on our gate malfunction. This company sold us a product, which is still under warranty, and has yet to get back in touch with us or fix the problem. In summary, ***** and his company have not stood behind their product, have not fixed the problem, and have been extremely rude to us in the process. We want to report this negligence to BBB in the hopes that you will get involved and address this complaint against Electric Gates and Access Control and its owner, ***** *******. We spent a lot of money on a brand new motor for this gate that is not being serviced. This is just not right. Thank you for your time.

We found Mr. ********** control board is damaged and needs to be replaced. The entire system had a 2 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty; both have expired. As he stated in his complaint, the system was installed in March of 2020. The manufacture (US Automatic) does not have any boards available due to supply chain issues / covid. We informed him of this and that we have no control over this issue. Unfortunately, his gate was damaged by high winds from hurricane Ida last year and it required us to replace the actuator arm. We did have several service calls before the arm was replaced trying to get the gate functional. Since he was informed of this issue, we have not received any calls to our office. Also, at no point did we ever hang up on Mr. Mitchell. Our last conversation; was we would contact him as soon as the part becomes available. I contacted US Automatic today (10/4/2022) and they still do not have any boards available.

We understand his frustration; but the issue is with US Automatic / not Electric Gates.
