i have traveled to ****** this summer for my mom's funeral. i was there for 6 days and my lost luggage was returned to me on the day i was leaving the country. i asked for expense refund. they asked me for receipts although website indicates receipts are not necessary. i still haven't received any refund and it is unlikely they will. it is very likely though that i will not travel with turkish airlines again. i have a hard time understanding that how in the world company can ask me to prove how much i spent to compensate for what they lost during my travel. do they expect customers to be in their travel outfits for a week? i suggest policy makers should do that for themselves and then write the rules. thank you for nothing!hulyaReview from Marieta K

Ive always flown with TA without much problem, and was always surprised to hear negative comments about the airline. However I now see why! I have an upcoming flight along with my infant. Instead of having him sit in my lap I purchased additional seat, called customer service and requested baby bassinet. They said I had my seats booked wherever the bassinets normally go and request eat taken. I was advised to call back closer to my flight to confirm the bassinet itself. When I called then second time apparently none of the above is done! I have no bassinet and no seats assigned. Moreover the customer service ***resentative talked to me with sexist, disrespectful manner- instead of apology I was blamed and told I dont know what Im talking about. I requested to talk to other *** or a manager which I was never granted and was instead yelled at! Never have I experienced such attitude from any customer service! And never again I am flying with themReview from Fadia E

Both of my children (young adults) have disabilities.Turkish Airline was to transport them on flight TK 180 from *********** to ******** ** to ******** with 18 hours layover in ******** (no accommodations offered), then ******** to ******They spent the night at the airport as they couldnt afford a hotel room. They were to board their flight to ***** scheduled for 6:50 am.They were at the other end of the airport, arrived at the gate at 6:30, the plane was at the gate, where about 12 other passengers in front of them were asking to board, but the staff told everyone that the gate was closed. The plane was delayed until 7:24. Not to honor those passengers request to board the plane, but to remove their luggage from the plane. My son and my daughter were travelling to be with their father who is very ill, in grave condition. They went to Turkish Airline to reschedule but only to be shocked when they told them they must pay $2000.00 each to fly to their destination. We purchased tickets for an international flight, my kids were given their boarding passes for both flights at ***, and their luggage were checked all the way to *****; they confirmed/check in both flights online before we all left to the airport. They were all set.For Turkish Air to transport them from LA to ******** then trap them in the middle of their trip and ask them to pay $2000.00 each, which we couldnt afford, to continue their trip to be with their ill father is unacceptable, if not criminal. They seem to have staged this situation, shut the gate early and not allow a decent number of passengers (about 12 or 15) to board the plane so theyd collect money. The airplane was at the gate, they were at the gate, but not allowed to board. We have a photo of the other passengers who were left stranded at the gate with my kids, unfortunately, it has a young girl looking straight into our camera, and only for her protection we are not sharing the photo.Review from Caryn P

I missed an email that moved my flight to one that was 7 hours earlier (even though the flight that I had initially booked was still on). When I got to the airport, the representative told me I had to buy a new ticket! This resulted in having to pay more that $1300 in addition to what I had already paid for my round-trip ticket, the loss of ****** FF miles, and my luggage wasn't returned to me for 4 days. There was an "investigation", and I was told that "there was no human error on the part of Turkish Airlines". I am so disappointed in this airline.Review from Mary Jo F

A BUNCH OF CROOKS Lied about flight rebooking after they canceled our flights twice. Lied about compensation for all the ride to and from the hotel. Lied about easily reimbursing our food. Until now, they keep lying about they did a "thorough investigation" of what happened. Their staff hardly spoke English. They were often brash and rude. They served cold meals. Oh, did I mention, they also made us wait for almost 3 hours sitting in a hot plane on the tarmac before canceling the flights totally ...and did it again on the flight back!Worst airline ever!Review from Karthik S

I had booked a trip with Turkish airlines from BOS to IST where my luggage was broken into which completely derailed our trip to a foreign country. Now they are not compensating us regarding this incident either. We need help as we have lost some valuable items.Review from Madou D

I think Turkish Airlines an its employees are all Terrorist and are all completely Racist, the agents treat and talk to BLACK people like we are dogs, no respect for people of color, I think ***************** need to BANNED them from flying to *****************, I bought a refundable ticket for my nephews, they were denied boarding from ******* to ********, because the agents in ******* did not know how to do their jobs, I called to get my ticket refunds, everyone I spoke to on the phone, keep giving a different answer as to why my nephews were denied boarding, bunch of terrorist and racist airline. Tickets cost me $4500.00 they only end up refunding me $60.00. I wish the US will banned them from flying here.Review from Rose G

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and dissatisfaction with the handling of my recent complaint by Turkish Airlines, regarding severely damaged baggage during my travel with my wife. As a loyal customer of ********************** for several years, this is the first time I am compelled to raise a formal complaint. Despite past minor issues which I overlooked, the extent of damage inflicted on our baggage on this occasion is unacceptable. Two of our bags were not just damaged but rendered unusable, including one particularly expensive piece. The responsibility for this damage was acknowledged by your agent at the airport. Following their advice, I filed the claim online, providing necessary documentation and evidence.Despite the clear liability on your part, and after a prolonged and cumbersome process filled with paperwork and long waits for responses, my claim was unjustifiably rejected.Your rejection, based on the absence of a purchase receipt for baggage bought over a year ago, is unreasonable. It is common knowledge that retaining such receipts is not customary for consumers. Additionally, the notion of repairing severely damaged baggage is not only impractical in the U.S. market but also not cost-effective. Your policy of relying solely on purchase and repair invoices is unrealistic and does not accommodate the realities of baggage handling and consumer practices. The entire experience has been not only frustrating due to the loss of valuable property but also disappointing in terms of customer service. The amount of time and effort I have had to invest in this process, only to be met with an unjust denial, is unacceptable. This incident has significantly tarnished the reputation of Turkish Airlines in our eyes. What was once a trusted airline for us, has now led to a decision to cease our patronage.Review from Jessica S

I flew with Turkish airlines on. Oct 12 from *** to *** ( layover in ist, 75 minute layover pre booked via Turkish airlines website). Our boarding process was pretty unorganized, and I didnt realize we were delayed. Our seats were very cramped too. By the time I realized our predicament that we were delayed and only having 20 min to get from our gate thru passport control to the next in 20 minutes was not gonna happen. We were never informed of any delay prior as Im sure if given the option Im pretty sure we wouldve waited in *** . The flight attendant were not helpful they said they couldnt help us that maybe they would wait . Because there was a lot of passengers on my long haul flt to Catch the one to ****** . Which I know for fact that they usually dont wait bc then Turkish airlines will get fined . I fly a lot and work at an airport.. and of course I missed the flight . They pre booked me on another flight 6 hours from when I got there .. I arrived in ******** at 7pm or so and didnt leave til **** or so . Missed my hotel reservation. According to websit it says im *********** refund of ticket . Yet they denied any wrong doing
