April 2023 I purchased a vehicle from RTE29 Motors in ******************. At the time I was sold an extended warranty, I was told I could "cancel at any time" by ***** the manager. I went in person to the dealer to cancel the extended warranty, was told based on the contract, the only way I could cancel was if the car was stolen, repossessed, or totaled. I Told them a consumer should be able to cancel whenever they wanted & that information wasn't provided to me upon purchase. I mailed a letter to both Rte28 ********************************* the warranty company requesting cancellation.Business response

To whom it may concern,
In order to cancel the warranty, ************ needs to come in with the purchased vehicle to Rt 28 Motors and sign the warrnty company's cancellation form. Rt 28 Motors has to verify the odometer of the car on the cancellation form for the warranty company to calculate the refund. If the car is sold, the bill of sale ond if stolen or salvaged, any official document showing the odometer would be sufficient.
I will be happy to make an appointment for *********** during our working hours.

I purchased a 2014 ****** Tundra on 6/8 with a 30 day warranty from Route 28 motors for $23,500. When I went to check it out, I noticed that the check engine light was on.They stated that work had just been completed on it and the mechanic had not reset the computer. They assured me that it was ready for sale. I purchased it 6/8. Within a mile of driving home, the Check Engine Light (CEL) came on and it started to idle rough and misfire. I took it back to the shop ASAP (6/10). They completed the repairs and upon request provided me with one repair order form dated 6/15 in the amount of $548.29. They also provided me with two invoices for purchases ($451 and $562) for additional parts but not the complete repair form including labor. These invoices were dated 6/24 and 6/26. They released the car to me on 6/28. I drove it approximately 120 miles on the highway before it stalled when I went to park it. When I was able to start it up, it started making clicking noises and that grew to a loud metallic squealing noise. At this point, I parked it, deeming it undrivable (6/28). I also requested to return the truck and schedule a title transfer. The owner insisted that the vehicle get repaired and that I take it and that I would be happy with the truck. I immediately contacted the dealer requesting a tow to service the vehicle (7/1). The truck was worked on until July 20th. In the time that the dealer had the car, the dealer informed me that the timing had to be replaced and that the head and head gasket also had to be replaced. Due to the nature of that repair, and after contacting a mechanic, I further insisted upon a return as I was concerned about significant damage to the engine that *** have occurred while driving with a blown head gasket. The mechanic I contacted also stated that all of the initial repairs that were done could have been related to a blown head gasket and that they very well could be related.Business response
