On June 6th, 2024 I purchased a 115HP Mercury 4-Stroke Outboard Starter from Ready Set Boat. Item # ST119-230728-M115 (2yr warranty). The part was not the correct part, so it was returned with the return invoice per instructions from the web site. The item was delivered on June 17th at 2:40PM. I had not received a credit or a reply to my email, so I did a follow up email on July 8th and then again on July 17th. The phone number that is listed doesn't allow you to talk to customer service or leave a message, it only directs you to email them. The emails were sent to sales@readysetboat.com.I still have not received a credit.

A refund (minus restock fee) has been issued.  We actually made an error and refunded the $35 shipping cost as well, which shouldn't have been refunded.

sold me a product that does not increase the performance of my outboard motor from 3.5hp to 5hp! that they claim that is does! totally a scam! i shipped it back unused and i was charged $45.00

      Business response

The customers claim is untrue.  He never used the parts so I'm not sure how he can claim it didn't work or was a scam.  A restock fee was charged per our refund policy clearly stated on our website, and in which he was directed to before returning the order.  A full refund, minus the restock fee, was issued.

I purchased a carburetor and prop set from Ready Set Boat. The product did not fit the engine that it was said to match on their website. They gave me the information on where to return the part for a 20 percent restocking fee charge. I sent the part in and have not received any refund. I cannot get ahold of them and have been attempting to for weeks. I would like them to honor their return policy and refund my money.

      Business response

Just to clarify - the customer stated that "they placed this order by mistake".  It does fit what the website says it fits.  A refund (less the restock fee) has been issued for $199.98.

To Ready Set Boat, I appreciate you guys finally getting back with me. I find it very unprofessional that you guys did not want to reply or issue a refund until this got reported to the BBB. Big thank you to them as this wouldnt have been possible without the BBB. I hope that you guys can improve your customer service as that seems to be your businesss downfall.

April 23, 2023 I purchased a trim motor from my mercury 60 hp after installing it it was leaking brought it to a certified mercury dealer who said the motor was defective and had never been cast right gasket would not see properly I emailed ready said Boat asking for a refund. They responded that I would need a receipt saying I paid for a new one.I sent them a copy of the receipt I have heard nothing ever again Ive emailed *********************** multiple times without any response

This requires an override which we are working on.  Our policy is to provide a replacement item if the one the customer receives is defective - but the customer had ************************ bought one somewhere else.  So we are going above and beyond to assist with a refund that is against our policies and a refund should be issued soon.

I appreciate ************** trying to go above and beyond but
      1.
all transactions have been electronic and an override and refund should take minutes not weeks

      2. The neglect to respond to my questions in my emails and lack of proactive communication is the most frustrating of all

      3. I would like ************** to define soon with a date the refund will be issued as soon is extremely vague

I purchased a carburetor from this business which claimed to be the correct one. Once I received the item it clearly was the wrong part and I contacted him to ask him about it. He replied to me up until I sent him pictures of my old one and the new one showing him it was not even close. I then told him I would be returning that part and asked how he would like it handled and since then nothing. So I am out my money and the part. I will be returning it to him with a signature required so I can see if he received it.

      Business response

We have received the part back and it is awaiting inspection.  As long as the part is still in new condition, we will issue a credit.
