My girlfriend and I have been taking both of our dogs to this vet for about a year and a half. Up until recently, the care has been adequate. One of our dogs, ******, started having ****** diarrhea on 23JAN24, and we took him to Parkway where he was prescribed antibiotics. Our other dog, ****, started vomiting and having diarrhea on 31JAN24, so we took her to Parkway and asked for the same treatment. This time they did not give us antibiotics. We called back and asked why they didn't give them to us, even though our other dog got them with similar symptoms. They said that they only like to give antibiotics if the dog has ****** diarrhea. This didn't take into account the symptoms and treatment of ****** at all. That night **** had diarrhea every 30 minutes to half hour, which soon became ******. We tried to get in touch with Parkway begging for the appropriate treatment, but it took 2 phone calls to get the doctor to answer us. To their credit, they did recheck her for free, but at this point her health had debilitated so much that she needed fluids injected and the antibiotics we originally asked for. After this incident, we filed a complaint with the veterinary licensing board ************-IT-ENF). On 07Feb24, I called asking for them to give me a written prescription of our dog's anti-anxiety medicine that they had prescribed her. Under 256 CMR 5.02(2), clients have a right to get a copy of their written prescription from their vet upon request. However, because I had filed the complaint, the doctors and staff at Parkway decided to not give me that written prescription. I told them that they were breaking the law in doing this, and I asked them to put that in writing. I have filed another complaint against them about this, and I am considering pursuing legal action once that is resolved. In all of this, my dog is the one that suffered. She is jumpier and more anxious because she is off her medicine, and Parkway has utterly failed her.
