An incident took place where I purchased items from this business on Saturday, April 9, 2022, around 3:00 pm while at the Richmond Marriot in Richmond, VA. My sorority was having a conference there and licensed vendors were allowed to be on site and sell sorority paraphernalia. An employee of McCluskey & Associates asked me if I was interested in purchasing flip flop slides, and I said that I was. The employee asked me to have a seat, and I did. I assumed that he would hold the flip flop slides up to my shoes to see if they were my size. Instead, he started to take off my shoe. So, I thought okay, he is going to help me try on the flip flop slide. Then the employee proceeded to pull out a bottle of lotion and started rubbing the sole of my foot! The employee knew I was uncomfortable and even told me to relax. I reacted immediately and told him not to put any lotion on my feet and just put the shoe on. I was very uncomfortable and embarrassed and paid for my things and walked off. I later emailed the business on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, and complained about the situation and was told that the employee would be spoke to immediately. My husband complained to the business as well on Thursday, April 14, 2022. My husband was told that individuals who purchased the flip flop slides were asked to sign a consent form before sitting down and having their feet rubbed with lotion. I was never asked for consent or signed a form. I didn't even know the business had flip flop slides for sale at first. It was the employee who asked me if I wanted to purchase slides. So, I think this is a ploy for the organization to save face. When I complained to the organization, I didn't even ask for a refund or anything. I only asked that the employee be reprimanded. But now that the organization has made it seem like I consented to such treatment, I would like for further action to take place. Because now I am worried that they may try to forge my signature on a consent form.
