I was looking for a salon and found one online. I booked an appointment the same day. Within 20 minutes, I received a phone call which led to requesting a cancellation with the salon. Upon calling, I was told they would charge me 100% of the fee unless I provided 24 hours' notice. Well, that is impossible as the appointment was for the same day. Additionally, there was no notice of this policy when I checkout for the services. I did enter my credit card which I am disputing with my credit card company but I think this is a policy that is not fair to the consumer who never receives service and when you have your hair done by someone you have never hired, you do not know if the service would be good. It does not give me an option to even measure the service I receive based on the service received. This is price gouging and an excessive fee for cancellation. If the fee within the 20 minutes which is really no time to lose any impact of replacing the appointment with someone else. The cancellation was within a short period of time of making it and the salon was losing absolutely nothing by my cancellation.Cancellation policies are to cover losses not taking money $175 for doing nothing. This stylist had an open schedule for the entire day and my request was made early morning which would not have cause any hazard to this stylist.
