I hired Unique Styles to renovate my home in May 2023. As part of the renovation, Mr. S******* demolished both bathrooms. The renovations weren't completed until November 2023. The home was sold on April 19, 2024. During the walk through (prior to the home sale), the toilet in the master bathroom was observed to be leaking. Mr. S******* was contacted prior to the home sale, and he was made aware of the leak. Mr. S******* indicated that he would send a Plumber to fix the leak. It's been 7 days, and we are still waiting on a Plumber. The water has been cut off and the toilet can't be used since water can cause a lot of damage. The original plumbing work was not up to par. Thus, this is my second complaint to the BBB to resolve issues with the plumbing. I had to clean water from the toilet in the Master Bathroom as well as the vanity in the hallway bathroom. The vanity in the hallway bathroom needs to be checked for leaks as well. I am requesting repairs to address the leaks as soon as possible to prevent any water damage.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:The issue still stands. Mr. S******* never responded to this complaint. I have not been contacted nor has he gone by the house located at ***** ** ***** ***** ****** Princess Anne, Maryland 21853 to fix the leaking toilet. This issue has gone on for three weeks. The water has been shut off to the toilet and it can’t be used. This is causing a hardship to only have one functioning toilet.

Unique Styles was hired to replace the subfloors in each bathroom. They never went underneath the house to clean up their construction debris. The only way to clean up the debris is from underneath the house. This finding was cited on my home inspection report. Mr. S******* will not return phone calls or text messages in order to address the matter. In addition, he can't be reached on his office phone.Business response

Mr. Kenneth S*******, Owner of Unique Styles Custom Home Builders, was hired on 5/18/23 to renovate my home. I am writing this complaint due to the following concerns: 1) The cement block supporting the porch railing shouldn’t be visible. It should be flush with the ground. Also, cement was carelessly poured all over my front yard, which damaged the grass. 2) The steps to the ladder in the attic were replaced and now the attic will not close due to an issue with the lever. 3) Mr. S******* and his team refused to wear shoe covers. Subsequently, my carpet is damaged. 4) The original toilet was placed back into one of the bathrooms after remodeling everything else. This toilet is running. It was damaged after being left out in the elements for several months unprotected. The toilet was not replaced whereas toilet replacement was covered in the contract. 4) A towel bar was randomly placed above the toilet in the Master Bathroom. This isn’t functional for a small bathroom since the space above the toilet can't be used for vases, deodorizer, cleaners, wall art, etc. It wasn’t in that location in the original bathroom. Please note that the placement is correct in the other bathroom. They weren't consistent from one bathroom to the other. After my complaint, a new towel bar was hung on the other wall while leaving the old one in place. I now have two mismatched towel bars in one bathroom and the original issue is still left unaddressed. 5) The painting showcases poor workmanship. Overall, the project was delayed. Lights were left on in my house, repeatedly, and the access was left open which placed my home at a security risk on top of running up a bill. This can be corroborated by several neighbors. Mr. S******* rushed through the final renovations and left my home in an unsatisfactory condition. I have attempted to reach out to him on multiple occasions. He ignored all communications. To whom it may concern we have successfully completed all complaints that Mrs. ****** *** had issues with weather they where structural or cosmetic in her complaint form we are meeting with her today to settle our account 11-27-2023 thanks for your help.
