My Mother purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Spichers Appliance and Security located at **** * ******** ****** ** ** ********** ** ***** on March 30, 2023. She paid for the refrigerator and a five year warranty totaling $1,684.00. In June of 2023 the ice maker would not work so a repairman came out. It still didn’t work and yet another repairman came out and did something to a water line. It worked for about a week then quit working again. Today is Monday October 9, 2023 and Mom called Spichers yet again and was told to call Whirlpool, passing the buck in the process. It’s up to Spichers to replace this lemon of a refrigerator, and not to keep sending repairmen who obviously don’t care about their customers needs. The dispute with Spichers is they refuse to make the matter right by replacing the refrigerator with a new one that has an ice maker that works.Business response

From our records, we last went out on service on 9/6 and was working properly. The customer called after to say it wasn't working, but refused to set up another service call for the technician to come look at it and demanded a new one. When under warranty, there are specific requirements from the manufacturer that need to happen before a replacement obtained, the unit had not met those specifications. It couldn't be assessed either since the customer didn't want service. It was then told to the customer that if they didn't want service with Spichers, they could contact Whirlpool instead. The customer is more than welcome to call and set up another service call if she desires the unit to be fixed.Initial Complaint

I Baught a microwave in February of 2021 and started to have trouble with it in November of 2021. It wouldn't heat up the food. They came in November and looked at it and ordered parts. The parts didn't come in until March and my warranty was over in February and they came on March 9 and had the wrong part and had to reorder them. They came back on March 16 with two parts and the technician thought he had it fixed. A couple days later it wouldn't work at all. They came back again on March 22 and the technician said it needed different parts and gave me a list and told me I had to call GE and ordered the parts my self and see if they would send them for free and pay for the service fee. If not I would have to pay for everything. I called the service manager at Spichers and he said the same thing. I feel that they need to fix it because they missed around for 4 months to get me my parts and didn't fix it the first time.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/01) */ Because the unit was out of warranty we were able to contact the manufacture who is willing to cover the parts and labor for this repair.
