I recently had a cosmetic procedure that requires a compression garment to be worn 23 hours/day for 3 months. The garment must be altered smaller to fit the body as swelling decreases in the healing process. Esther charged me $180 on June 13th to alter 5 garments to be smaller. She altered the garments too small, causing the zipper to break when trying back on in her store for pickup. I left the garments with her to be corrected. Upon picking the garments back up on my way to work, I brought them home and attempted to wear. The zipper was never corrected and blisters/sores developed on my skin from the alteration still being too small. I returned to her shop yet again, showing her pictures of the sores on my skin and requesting her to correct the garments for the third time. She wanted to charge me $40, which I stated was unfair seeing that these corrections are a result of her improper alteration. She agreed to not charge to correct the garments and told me to pick-up two days later. When picking up for the third time, the garments were still not corrected from her poor alteration service. Now I have sores on my body, along with garments that are too tight, that I can no longer wear, with a broken zipper. This is a major inconvenience and could possibly affect the outcome of my surgery - in addition to the pain and discomfort of garments altered too small. I am requesting assistance in receiving a refund in the amount of $180.00, seeing that she did not provide the service requested, an alteration that fits correctly, and created harm to my skin and recovery process post-surgery. I now have garments that I can no longer wear, and I am in worse shape than before visiting Esther’s business. Please note, Esther verbally yelled at me upon the first request to correct the alteration. I do not feel comfortable returning to her business. I ended up having to take the garments elsewhere and pay and to have Esther’s work corrected, photos attached.
