I paid *** Eleiott of ELEIOTT CONTRUCTION $2,800.00 to replace the roof shingles on my Quonset hut back in November of 2021. We were still in ***** selling our home, preparing to move to *****. He put on about 8 shingles before the snow set in - understandable. However, he has yet to finish the job as of today (24 June 2022)! After several texts back and forth over the months, in late May 2022, *** Eleiott stopped by to talk to me and he said "next week I'll start". On Friday 3 June 2022 I texted *** Eleiott for a status and he said that he could not get a crew together to finish the job. I literally offered to assist him myself or have him refund me the labor portion of the job because I have some contractors here at the house (today, 24 June 2022) to do some work before we close on the sale of our house, and they said they could finish the roof for me. *** Eleiott replied back on 3 June 2022 that he would either finish the roof himself or bring the labor money and a few materials he had also purchased like nails on Monday 6 June 2022, before the contractors came to my house. I am under greater pressure now to get the roof done for the new homeowners (under contract) in August (2022) since that was advertised as being done before move in.After not hearing from *** Eleiott for another week, On 10 June 2022 I texted *** Eleiott yet again asking if we could set an actual date for him to bring the money and the items over, but I have not heard from him since, including a text I sent him yesterday (23 June 2022).I called again today 24 June 2022 and texted, but no reply. I feel that I have been more than patient, but I think that I am not going to get the money / materials back. I estimate the labor around $1,200.00, give or take a few hundred because I have not seen the receipts for the shingles still sitting next to the Quonset hut. I am on a fixed retirement income so this really stinks.Business response

First off I only got a few shingles installed in December because his electric outlets were messed up.then the day I was supposed to start he replied he wasn't going to be home.iv mention a number of times I need electricity to run my aircompreeser.this job is a bid so I don't need to show any receipts. That's why it's a bid.i came down with covid and wasn't able to make contact last 14 days but everyone thinks the worse and quick to throw under the bridge. So I've hauled all tools over once and had to leave plowed yard a few times which did for no charge.nice guy but I only didn't listen to me when I repeatedly told him I needed a outlet.if I would of had that job would of been done in DecemberCustomer response
