Brought my car in for an oil change on 8/24. Arrived shortly before 9:30. Was told around 10:45 that my oil pan had cracked and that they ordered a new one. They also told me that there was recall on the part and that when they called the dealership they confirmed that. I googled and there is no current recalls for my vehicle. I didnt know that this was something that needed to be replaced right then and there. I asked how long it would take as I had prior obligations. I needed to leave for ******* for a concert that I had paid for months in advance. I wanted to leave by 1pm and was told that it shouldnt be a problem that they would get it done as quickly as possible. I went home from the shop as I needed to get other things done for the day. At 11:59pm I received a voicemail stating that they had received the part and it takes up to an hour to install. I went back to the shop at 1:15 because I had not received a call. The manager told me he was going to talk to the mechanic. Proceeded to go out onto the floor, come back and didnt say anything to me. Went out a second time and the receptionist said he was going out to talk to the mechanic. The manager then came back in and said that they were working as hard as they could to get the job done but werent sure that it was going to happen. At this point I sought out other options as I needed to leave for my prior plans. I ended up having to rent a car. The remainder of the day I was not called and given an update on my car or to be told that the job was finished. Friday 8/25 I did not receive a call so at 5:01pm I was forced to call the shop for an update and was told that my car was still not finished. I explained that I had to get a rental car and that I was very disappointed that they were not honest with me regarding the situation. I received an apology but was blown off about the rental car. The shop is closed on the weekend so my car was left on a lift until the business day Monday. Monday I received a call at 11:14 with a voicemail saying that they had diagnosed the problem and were putting my car back together. I returned the call and asked about it being done by the end of the business day. He said my car would be done or a rental would be available to me at 5:30pm. Upon arriving to the shop at 5:30pm we proceeded to wait for the employee to get back with the rental car. After 20 minutes of waiting I was given a van that had a quarter tank of gas and was told I didnt have time to check the gas but keep the receipts if you have to fill up and we can reimburse you. Upon driving the vehicle my 5 minutes home It was clear this is not a rental vehicle. The car ran really rough and was physically hard to turn. I missed work on Monday due to not having a car and worked from home on Tuesday due to not feeling like the vehicle this shop gave me is reliable or safe for my 40 minute one way commute. I did not hear from the shop with an update until 4:30 pm on Tuesday and was told my car was still having issues and was being towed to another shop. I proceeded to bring the loaner vehicle back because I am not driving it due to safety/uncomfortably reasons. When I returned it to the shop for this reason they did not give any solution to the problem and would not give me the district managers number. I am beyond frustrated that this shop has not been honest with me from the start and has given me no resolution. They wont own up to the fact that they messed up and proceeded to tell me there was a recall and that is why the issue happened. I have now had to pay for a rental car and take off work because of the time this has taken.
