Late last year Sherriff Goslin of ********* ** installed a roof on this home, I reside here. My grandfather owns the property and paid for the installation. The roof was installed in early / mid November 2023. The crew left nails in my driveway. I found a few after they left. One of them I missed made it's way into my front tire. It was Nov 24th when i discovered the flat, but I didnt have time to get it fixed until Dec 2nd. I got the tire replaced, along with a matching tread tire for the other side on Dec 2nd, 2023, at ADT EXPRESS **********, at ***************************************************************. I paid a total of 104.00$ USD. Only Half, *****$ USD of the expense was damage incurred due to inadequate cleanup by Sherriff Goslin crew. That same day, I contacted Sherriff Goslin office at Mansfield via email informing them of the situation, and requesting reimbursement, along with an attached receipt. After no answer for 10 days, I called their office on December 12th and was informed by their secretary that the message had been forwarded to the correct department at the ************, ** Sherriff Goslin Office so it could be reviewed for acceptance. I was told that it's "ultimately up to ************ office, but that in this case, since the incident occurred so close to the roof installation date, 'it looked like they were going to approve the reimbursement' " ... Approaching the 2 month date since that phone call, I have not yet received nothing in the mail, nor email, nor phone call - as any sort of update. I called in again earlier this month, still have not heard back. I no longer have time to pursue this manually. If they were seriously going to reimburse me and make it right, I wonder that it wouldn't of have happened by now. I request the BBB step in to arbitrate a reimbursement of ***** for the tire I had to pay for. The **************** were kind to me about the situation. However they said this was forwarded to ************ ** office. I haven't heard from them yet.Business response

I paid out $11,410.50 for damage to my home due to poor workmanship by the roofing company. They did send a few men to my home and spent a few hours fixing the roof. But, they refuse to pay the bill for damages to my home. Three different contractors all agree the damage to my home (roof, walls, floors) results from poor workmanship by the roofing company. I simply need them to pay the bill.Business response

We are told that the person filing this complaint purchased the home in 2018. We are asking for the paperwork that shows the transfer of ownership of the roof's guarantee/warranties from the *********** to the new owner(s). We also ask for correspondence to our local office regarding the intrusion of water that appear to have been going on for some time.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I did not receive any paperwork on the roof. I do know the previous owners and where they live and I am still in contact with them. Concerning contacting the local office; I sent the ********, ******* office notification of everything I sent the corporate office. And, I have several email exchanges with *********************; a 37 year employee from the local office. ***** helped in repairing the roof and understood the poor workmanship completed.

It would be helpful to get a copy of the contract from the previous owners. Additional information regarding the guarantees/warranties can be found at www.sherriffgoslin.com. The ** guarantee can be transferred one time within 60 days of the real estate transfer. For the manufacturer's warranty to be transferred, the homeowner must complete a warranty transfer by visiting atlasroofing.com/warranty along with a fee also within 60 days of the real estate transferCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because: the issue is not the warranty, but the faulty workmanship. Three different contractors from three different companies all agreed that the leak and damage in my home resulted from poor workmanship by your company. Regardless of the contract, your are still liable to pay for damage resulting from poor workmanship by your company. Your guys spend approx. five labor hours fixing their issue on my roof this past Monday. It makes one wonder how many claims your company has denied that should have been covered regardless of any contract.Has anyone filed a class action suit against your company regarding these kind of issues?
Maybe it is best that we go to court; not small claims court. Your more than welcome to have your attorney contact my attorney

We noticed that we had a shingle come loose on our pole barn. We requested that they come out and give us a quote on repairing the roof in May 2023. The representative came out and wanted us to replace the whole roof and willingly wanted us to pursue this with our insurance company. He was present when the insurance adjuster came out and he was very argumentative with the insurance adjuster when he said it was normal wear and tear and rejected the claim. When we asked for the cost of repair, he argued with me on the phone and never did come out to give us a quote. I contacted the corporate office in ************ to make a complaint mid June. I was told they would get back to me by the end of the week for resolution. It is now August and we have still not heard back from ANYONE from the company. We've used them for 3 houses, 2 barns, and a garage and this is the customer service we receive? All ************************* (the manager) was worried about was putting a new roof on even though the old roof is only 14 years old.Business response

Installers came to hang a door and adjust an existing door. Installer broke door handle. Installer profusely apologized in front of several others at my home, including snother team of contractors. He then tried to repair door k*** with parts from a k*** on his truck. He thought he had it working. He left and next morning I got locked out. Owner, ****, first offered to come repair. However, upon learning I was unhappy and left dissatisfied reviews, he stated the k*** was broke and that he was invoicing me and putting a mechanics lein on my house. I want the broken k*** fixed and I will pay in full. The handle was already on door and working without flaw. Please see times in photos depicting initial phone call vs retaliation.Business response

This summer I used this company to put a new roof on my house. A month or so later I found out I needed a new AC and furnace and because of this would need additional work done on the roof that needs to be coordinated with the **** company. I called the company on 08/09 and received no response. I emailed on 08/11/22 and received a response that they would call the **** company on 08/12. On 08/18 the **** company told me that they had not heard from this company. I called/emailed on 08/18 with no response. I called on 08/22 and spoke with ****** who said that *** would get ahold of the **** company on 08/23. On Thursday 08/25 the **** company still had not heard from them so I called again with no response. I called on Friday 08/26 and again spoke with ****** who told me *** was supposed to be calling that day. I was then told that an appointment had been set up between ***************************** and the **** company to review the roofing needs on 08/31/22 at 3 p.m. The **** company was here at 3 p.m. on 08/31 and waited until 4 p.m. Sherriff Goslin did not show for the appointment and did not call myself or the **** company to let us know they would not be there. I called and left a message on 08/31 with no call back at this time. Both myself and the **** company have explained repeatedly that the work needs to be done by ***************************** to protect my warranty on my brand new roof. I have explained that I have respiratory issues and that having no air conditioning is exacerbating these issues. The **** company has explained that we are getting into fall and I will have no heat when it gets cold. Despite expressing these concerns, the roofing company continues to not contact the **** company to coordinate the work that needs to be done or provide an alternative solution to accomplish what needs to be done. I have been told several times that "***", the manager, is supposed to get in contact with me but I have only ever spoken with ******.Business response

Our local manager has reached out to both the home owner and the **** company. We were able to coordinate with the **** contractor and the home owner and were able to complete the install last Wednesday. We are very sorry it wasn't handled better at the beginning. We appreciate the patience from the home owner.

A terrible experience with unskilled roofers who left my high quality gutters in shambles. I have requested repairs and rehanging of the gutters on several occasions to no avail. The workers came out to evaluate the clearly and visibly angled gutters and said "nothing was wrong, everything is attached." While some damage from removal and reinstallation was inevitable, the company did not properly re-install the gutters to keep water from pouring down the side of my house every time it rains.Business response
