In October of 2023 I saw an add on Facebook for Sexton Underground, it said that they did landscaping. On October 10th I received an invoice for work ***** said he would do for $3000. Work included trench and drains, removing a non working sump pump, an outdoor fireplace, some concrete pads and grading/leveling the area. After the invoice was made we talked about him removing the deck also for $500, I agreed. On October 17th I wrote him a check for $1750. After he started doing work it was discovered that a concrete barrier needed to be removed that was under the deck. He agreed to remove it for $1000. He also wanted to charge me to put in another drainage line that I never even wanted but he said I needed. He said I would owe another $3000 (so $4750 total) and he asked me to write him another check so I gave him $1500 more on Oct. 25th. The new invoice that he sent was for $6100 and he started digging a trench for drainage that I never agreed to. By the end of the weekend he wanted me to pay him the rest of the $6100 that I had not even agreed to. I felt like he needed the money and I thought he was going to finish the job so I gave him another $1500 on Oct 29th. At this point I had paid him all of what he originally said I would owe for all of the work, $4750. I was getting nervous about his work. I ask him not to install either of the drains that he wanted to put in. I feel like I was due a refund since he was not putting in either drain in but I thought as long as he got the stuff out that he said he would get out I would be ok with it. He still has not gotten all of the material out that I paid to have removed per his original invoice, as of 12/11/23. He told me two weeks ago he would come finish it by this week but now he is saying January. He has done damage to my personal belongings and yard that he is not compensating me for and I have dirt in my backyard that I never wanted. I need for the job to be finished or I need a refund.
