1. In august 2021, we asked them to clean up the yard. By November, it wasnt done. When questioned, he told me he would do it in the spring. I told him that we needed it done as agreed before the winter. 2. We came up the first week of May to find that 50% of it was not complete. There were two large piles of sticks in the yard and the dog pen had not been touched at all. It took us an hour to break down the sticks in the firepit. It was not in a state that it could have been burned. We had to get a service out to haul away trash that his team left behind. When he finally responded to communications with us on May 31, 2022, he said that was fine by the old owners. We are not the old owners. 3. We called him multiple times and left messages the weekend of May 5th in order to discuss the concerns we had. He did not respond. 4. We viewed on a security camera video from the fall the Hospenthal team walking around with leaf blowers but not actually blowing leaves. 5. We sent an email on May 8th telling them that we would not need his services moving forward. He did not respond. 6. The first half of May after we fired them by email, we have video of his team dragging a large stick into a walkway and then walking over it. It was still there three days later when a renter had to move it. 7. ON 5/31/22, we received an invoice for the unauthorized work he did in May. I contacted him via text to tell him that we would not pay it. He was surprised to hear that we fired him on 5/8/22 and proceeded to tell me that we still owed him money for winter services. As I was ouf of town and could not trace the check, I immediately sent him $570 for past due services and told him I would not pay for the May 2022 service. (We had not authorized the service.) 8. On June 10th, I found the original $570 check was cleared on May 12th and learned from my bank that he had also cashed the second $570. I have texted, emailed, and called him to provide a refund with no response.
