Date of the transaction was last week of June. First week of July. 2024.I had a 2013 Dodge Charger. Car had high miles on it. Had some issues. Told motormax that being it was my trade in. All the issues to the car. Spared no details. I didn't want anything coming back on me...I did venture across an ad on ******** because I was looking at many car lots in person and online at the time. And found a 2017 ***** Camaro 1LT-RS on Motormaxs ******** Ad.Went and looked at it. Lots of body damage to the car at the time when I test drove it. I was told the car was going to be repaired if I were to buy it before I drove the car off the lot. I made some requests on a few repairs I noticed my self (that I had to end up fighting them on because that wasn't the case when I picked the car up. The body panels that were damaged were replaced. However the rear bumper was hanging off the car on the rear driver side. And still scratches and swirls in the paint to this day...The real problem came 3 weeks down the road. Started the car up to go to work. Car shifted hard. Waited until after work to call motormax. Asked if there was a warranty on the car. They asked why. I said the transmission is shifting hard in cold starts. I was told the vehicle was sold without the warranty (every vehicle i bought from them in the passed had JWC Warranty on them) they told me over the phone that the car had a warranty but was taken off so the bank would approve the loan. I was outraged.1 month later the car developed what ***** calls the A8 shutter. Meaning the torque converter is slipping in the trans due to the failure of the valve body which is a GM Defect. My car would be fixed right now had they would have sold me that warranty.Repairs on that car aside from the ********* loan on that car is ********. And that's just for the torque converter and valve body. They did not discuss the removal of the warranty with me. I didn't find out until 3 weeks after I bought the car.

Can we get the vehicle to our dealership for inspection next week? We'd be happy to take a look and determine if it needs a new torque converter or transmission. Either way we could save you money with our wholesale partners. Let us know what day you can drop it off. Thank you. ************

      Dear, ***

I got your message regarding a follow up with MotorMax of GR.

I've already taken my car to GM and they diagnoses the car with a bad torque converter and valve body. If ********* would review the notes inclosed with the complaint they would see that. I do not have time to pay another ****** for a diagnosis. And to take a day off..

Discovered severe infestation of bed bugs in used car post-purchase, rendering it unfit for use or sale to a customer. Paid $13,300 for the car on 11/24/2023 , and traded in a car they gave $1,200 credit for. I have the paperwork.A week after purchase, discovered my first bed bug (ever), from the car. After some research, I realize my home, my friends' homes, and anywhere else I've been after driving are *already* at risk.Leave messages at the dealer the next two days, no response. Catch in person with one of the calls and I hear that they "Don't think it makes sense, but they're willing give the money" (I asked for $250 to cover paying a professional to take care of the car, which ended up being completely ineffective) - so, they had received my message but not called me back. They did give me $250, and said nothing about whether they knew about the bugs beforehand, or might refund, or were shocked to have sold a car in that condition. Simply said they had dealt with bedbugs before and it *****, and gave me the money. I've since tried to deal with the infestation through multiple DIY methods, and have documented my efforts. . Now, three months later, I'm sick of checking my clothes every day when I come in, and not being able to relax while driving or coming home. I didn't consider returning the car earlier because I believed they'd simply resell it to someone else, or that I would have to fight to be treated fairly (as I am now), and my sister's car was having trouble so we needed to have one operational. I have a statement confirming heavy infestation on 12/3/23 from the exterminator. I'm seeking full reimbursement for the car, dealer fees, trade-in, and my other DIY methods (<$150 total for DIY)They committed to provide me a usable car, and gave a buyers guide on possible risks of purchasing a used car, with no mention of bed bugs anywhere. I called them this week asking for a refund, and they have simply ignored my message.

MotorMax of GR strives for 100% customer satisfaction. The $250 check was given a few weeks after the sale to help mitigate the issue. This is the first time we've had a situation like this. We would like to help by looking into a new company that will rid your vehicle of these bugs. They may have a different method / process to eliminate other than MBBS who was previously contracted. MotorMax of GR is willing to cover the cost again (within reason) to succesfully remove bugs from vehicle.

      Complaint: 21367911

I am rejecting this response because:

I can only choose to fully accept or reject the resolution proposed by the dealer. This is my response asking for a more reasonable solution that takes my situation into account, given that I have to be able to rely on a usable car.

I am currently not driving my car because of the stress and disruption of this issue. I have been barely/minimally driving the car through almost 4 months of ownership because of this issue and my significant efforts to resolve it myself.

If we were to go with your suggestion, we would additionally need to agree bindingly on an exact amount and a vetted company to do the job. But this is not sufficient, though it's better than nothing. While I appreciate your response and previous payment to mitigate the issue, bed bugs do not simply go away quickly. Even with a professional cleaning, I would have to wait weeks or months without seeing more to be even somewhat certain they were gone, all while continuing to drive the car, checking all of my clothes after every session - to and from work, to anywhere else I want to go, to friends' houses, to *my* house, and even then I could be bitten while driving the car if the treatment is not fully effective. It's not reasonable to make me do this, and with no guarantee that the treatment will even work within reasonable cost. It may even be unhealthy for me to use the car during this time depending on the methods used. Let me stress that treatment cannot be guaranteed, and that the only way to know that they are gone is to not see them for a significant period of time.

The dealer does not have to drive the car. They have the time and space to take care of the issue, checking in on it, without it being a burden on their day-to-day transportation and general quality of life. If their solution is further treatments on the car, this is a much more reasonable way to do it, which allows me to be free of the problem and immediately able to purchase a usable car.

If we were to get the car taken care of by another company, I would need a guarantee that the treatment would continue until the problem is actually solved. Realistically I should also have a rental car covered while treatment is ongoing. If this cost exceeds 'reason' then I have been sold a car for far more than it was actually worth in the first place, since it is simply not usable without risking a spread of the infestation, and general ongoing stress and discomfort. You cannot expect me to be satisfied with any outcome where this remains a problem I have to deal with.

I understand that this is a rare and unlikely thing to happen in a car. I don't wish to be hostile about it. I have gone to considerable effort and stress to deal with the problem myself before concluding that it's not something that should rest on me after purchasing from a reputable business.

I continue to ask for a refund for the car. I understand the dealer would do this at loss and I would consider minor negotiation on the amount I am asking for if it will allow us to be done with this business sooner.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

This seems reasonable to me if the solution is effective.

I have researched additional companies and found one I am comfortable with calling to try to take care of the issue. They do guarantee that one (heat) treatment will be effective.

However, I'm leaving this complaint open until the issue is actually fully resolved.

I bought a vehicle from the dealership for $9,000 claiming to be it to be mechanically sound. just over a month later a tie rod broke and put a hole in the engine causing mechanical failure that the insurance company cannot cover due to it being a mechanical issue and not a vehicle accident. When reached out to the business they were unwilling to help in any of the repairs and said all sales are as is but did not inform me of any issues with the engine that should have been inspected before being sold. I got my first loan for this vehicle and now the estimate for repairs from another dealership estimated to be at over $7,000 that I cannot now afford.

We are sorry this happened. This 2011 ****** Prius had ******* miles on it. We sell these vehicles strickly As-Is. Not sure why the insurance company would not help in this situation as it sounds like an act of god. We try our best to ensure our customers know as much information as we do about the vehicle being purchased. We allow all of our customers to test drive the vehicle and take to a 3rd party for inspection. Our customers also have acess to free CarFax History reports on all of our vehicles posted on our website.

I just reviewed the updated CarFax History report today and it appears the vehicle was serviced at a Valvoline in Westfiled, IN on 11/19/2023, 5 days after purchased. By chance did Valvoline conduct any service related to the front end?

MotroMax of GR strives for 100% satisfaction. We regret this unfortunate incident occured but this vehicle was sold As-is. There is no way we could predict mechanical faliures of a vehilce that has no symptons at the time of sale.

      Thank you,

      Kam

I am rejecting this response because:
I just feel like I got completely screwed by a business that clearly has had multiple instances of similar situations in the past (according to other claims with the bbb). My vehicle had this issue just after a month. I feel taken advantage of as an unknowing and trusting customer. This has affected my work, and my mental health. I now know why people don't trust used car salesman. Ik that the business has no intention to help, they made that clear (worded as politely as possible even potentially putting fault on a oil change place that merely pulled the dipstick to tell me the oil was serviced recently already) , and that's fine, it just shows to me and hopefully everyone else that the business won't even stand behind what they sell to their customers.
      Sincerely,

It's unfortunate that you feel this way. We've sold thousands of vehicles since 2009. We cannot predict a tie rod breaking that puts a hole in the engine. If we heard a front end clunk or rattle before the time of sale we would've addressed the issue accordingly. Our advice would be to reach out to your insurance agency to see if this can be addressed by them.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:

I'm sorry I feel this way as well, and I honestly don't care how many cars you have sold since 2009. I understand that you have no obligation to help, and the lack of help is not the reason I am so upset with these responses. What makes me so irritated with this is that there is no accountability and basically saying "it ***** to suck". surface level apologies to save face to a young adult who got screwed with his first loan because of this. Also, in late December / early January I already reached out to my insurance, and my insurance claim rep that declined my claim since the issue was ***************** failure told me to reach out to BBB and to you as a dealership because they said any dealership with integrity should help you out with this. It's just crazy to me that there is no accountability in this. So, thanks :)...

In April of 2022 I went to Motormax with a van I had barely scraped enough money together to buy, it was a ****** so I traded it in for $1,000 off my new $16,000 loan for a 2013 ***** CRV I purchased through **** at Motormax. He was very nice and Im a 21 year old girl who has been through 4 cars at this point due to being screwed over. I specifically stressed how I needed something reliable and he insisted with *** coverage on the vehicle if anything happened and the car wasnt drivable the *** coverage would cover the rest of the loan. He sold me. Fast forward just over a year later and I have a BLOWN ENGINE. 5k-8k to fix and motormax has not returned any of my calls they just said they would call me back. I feel absolutely scammed again as I still owe $11,000 on the loan. Completely unprofessional and shady business. I would like motormax to buy the car back or pay for the repairs, there have also been no dash lights to come on even with engine failure which makes me believe they disabled the warning lights

MotorMax of GR strives for 100% customer satisfaction. We have 2 viable options.  Although this vehicle sale was over 1 year ago and the customer only had a three month or three thousand mile 50/50 warranty, we would still be willing to go above and beyond to resolve this issue.  We would be willing to see if one of our 3rd party vendors could replace the engine at wholesale costs. Let's get the vehicle to our location so that our technicians can confirm what the vehicle actually needs. If interested, let's get the vehicle to our service location. **********************************************************. Second option would be to trade this vehicle in and MotorMax would help as much as we can with any negative equity towards a new purchase. Please contact Kam ************ if either would be satisfactory.

I purchased a car from Motormax gr in **********. Asked all the right questions about accidents and such and was told it was in one small fender ******. We were unable to bring car to out mechanic because after an incident with another customer that wasn't allowed. Drove off lot and had to pull off highway and go 40mph. Hood was loose. Called dealer. Next day took for an oil change. Oil cap was layered in gunk. Called dealer. Told it was nothing. Took to ***** to get a recall taken care of 2 days later and found out radiator was lose, frame damage, missing parts, disconnected parts and a RED FLAG on our carfax. Called dealer said we wanted our money back. Replied sorry we can't do that. Offered to fix everything. Was guaranteed vehicle was safe. Fast forward taking care of a small fender issue and body man discovered significant frame damage, broken welds, missing bolts, poor radiator support weld, cut wires, broken parts. Adding up to over $7800 in out of pocket repairs. Told car was unsafe. They could do a full inspection and take bumper off but if anymore damage was found my car couldn't leave the shop out of safety concerns and may cost additional $8000 to $12000 out of pocket to fix remaining frame damage to make it safe. I purchased a car I thought was safe. I don't believe the dealer showed me the right carfax and sold me this car knowing the extensive damage to it even though we asked and he said the 1 small accident. I also putchased a warranty which i found out is junk because of all the damages that were pre-existing. My salesman told me i could bring the car back and pick another one but after asking questions he said i would only get TRADE IN VALUE on my car. I have a $32000 car with at least $7800 in damages to my frame and potentially at total of $15800 to $19800 in out of pocket costs. My trade in would be nothing! I want out of the contract, my loan and want my money back in its entirety because It is a $32000 paperweight that could kill my family!
