I responded to an ad posted by Sterling Pump Systems for a Dekker **** with **** The ad shows a Dekker **** with *** installed and no indication of any kind that would suggest otherwise. Over the phone I was told that they would be rebuilding a pump to new condition and installing a **** We received an email stating "the unit will take 3-4 weeks to complete" and "all units are built new, using the base frame, and having all new components installed". We paid the invoice on Nov 14th which showed the **** pump and *** itemized. I emailed on Dec 21 for a status update and they responded "It looks like we are waiting for the arrival of the **** We can wire the unit, so that you can run it without the **** and then add it at the remote location like we had discussed. Please let me know your thoughts." Adding the *** at a remote location was never discussed and would not work for us. Concerned with his false statement about discussing a remote *** installation, many of my emails to follow contained clear and concise verbiage, such as "how long will it be be before you receive the *** and complete installation? " which they never challenged. We sent occasional emails requesting updates. Once our order was 1 month late, and due to a lack of response, we began to explore the possibility of a refund. They led us on with revised due dates followed by excuses as to why they couldn't meet them, until the unit shipped on Feb 16th, a full 3 months after we ordered the machine. We received the machine with the *** in a box sitting atop the machine, not installed. Further, the *** was not the one listed in the invoice. We requested a refund for the *** ($5999). They claimed installation was not included and that they reserve the right to swap an item if availability is holding up a job - neither of which was ever discussed with us. The *** sent is worth $1598 and installation requires an engineer. We tested the pump and it overheated because the radiator was clogged with sediment.
