To whom it may concern,In July 2020, I agreed to receive tax services from *********************************** at Barry Associates in ********, ********. During our initial meeting she promised to take on for business both my business and personal taxes, including dealing with a sensitive matter with the **** Unfortunately, after our first meeting, ******* has not performed the job professionally or properly. I am disappointed because she ensured she would was invested in helping and since our first meeting my company and my personal taxes have been neglected. She has put her wealthy and white clients ahead of us and now my family is suffering because she refused to finish our taxes and fired my company today after being confronted for sharing my personal information with individuals outside of my household. ******* has been unprofessional on multiple occasions throughout the last 2 years including shouting during meetings, crying, lying or telling stories to one partner and other stories to me, and stirring up negative energy between my business partners. She even emailed to apologize after the incidents admitting fault. I can't pretend to understand why she singles out my minority family and business but I want to warn any other consumer who may entrust this woman with such an important job in future. I have asked multiple times of an explanation of charges and ******* refuses to provide it. she is charging me for work that I completed for the **** To resolve the problem, I would appreciate ******************************* and all of Barry Associates be investigated to determine if they are cheating others out of business and an apology. I also would like an explanation of the cost she charged me. Enclosed are copies of emails.I look forward to your reply and a resolution and plan to follow up. Barry Associates *** did agree on July 2020 to perform services for Mr. ***** ************* for both their personal tax return as well as working on a sensitive matter with the **** All work was completed dealing with a number of years of individual tax returns and it was completed on December 21,2021. The clients signed all the paperwork, and it was sent into the *** for review. The sensitive matter for the client was sent into the *** on May 12,2021 and is now settled. All work was done with a professional and proper manner.
Barry Associates *** has been in business since March 13, ****, with no complaints filed against the company or any of our staff. All our staff are held to the highest ethical standard. They shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. As well as, directed by the *** Treasury Department Circular No.230 (Rev. ******** code of ethics.
Mr. ***** ************* did receive a letter of termination of services on September 12. 2022. The letter stated that our company wasnt doing the Bells 2021 personal tax return, but an Extension was filed on their behalf for the 2021 tax year. We gave Mr. ****************** a list of other accountants in the area that they could contact. All original paperwork was returned, and copies of any work our office did for the past 2 year. This would make the transition easier for everyone involved.Thank you Barry Associates Inc.

I am rejecting this response because:
They arent taking responsibility for the unprofessional, mistreatment of our family and business. We do have a new accountant and he has confirmed that Barry wasnt serving our family or our business. They also copy and past a discriminatory policy in all communication. Yet treat their brown and black clients with disrespect. We will be seeking further retribution.

We are disappointed that ************ believes that Barry Associates has mistreated her family and her business. As we previously indicated in our initial response, we take these claims very seriously. We have conducted a review of procedures in this case and,respectfully, we do not believe Ms. ***** claims to have any merit. We treat all clients, individuals and businesses, in a non-discriminatory manner and do not copy and paste any type of discriminatory policy in any of our communications, internally or externally. We do not know what accountant *********** has retained but we wish her the best in her new professional relationship. We have previously, via our legal counsel, offered ************ an opportunity to sit down with us, in-person, or virtually, to discuss this matter in a private, confidential manner. To date, ************ has not responded to that offer. Unfortunately, given that ************ has previously, and continues, to threaten retribution and legal action for claims of race or other discrimination, we have been advised by legal counsel that we must decline any further communications outside the presence of counsel or a confidential platform at this time. We remain hopeful for an amicable resolution to this matter. Thank you.
