      The absolute worst customer experience we have ever had is the nightmare of having a kitchen remodel done by Maxwell Building Services. We have never spent so much time completely frustrated and absolutely furious with a company and its owner. We have never been threatened with legal action until dealing with Maxwell and have been threatened multiple times with serious legal actions over the course of the 27-month ordeal. Maxwell threatened to *** me for defamation for filing complaints with the BBB and the ******************* of ********************** Affairs ******* Maxwell recorded a lien on our home and threatened to foreclose on our home. The lien remained for 12 months until I could have it discharged. Maxwell never finished the project and did not schedule final inspections. The costs increased by 55% over the original quote with no change in scope of the project. The project management and customer communications were terrible!We never expected to be treated the way we were treated by a BBB accredited and A+ rated business. We look forward to an investigation of our complaint against Maxwell with the ******************* of ********************** Affairs (****).

      Maxwell was contracted by *********** who made a mistake and caused a leak in our basement. Their fix caused a SECOND leak in our basement, and Maxwell was contracted to do the mitigation and repair. Mitigation was easy and the owner was easy to work with. However, once we got into repair work, it became a nightmare. Our project manager wasn't able to communicate with us effectively, ultimately storming out of our house. It took them almost 6 weeks from the leak to get started on repair work and they started work prior to sending the plumber a quote and prior to talking with us about the quote for any additional upgrades (we were going to move from carpeting to vinyl planks). Suffice it to say, their quote contained multiple inaccuracies that they couldn't communicate clearly about and ended up with us stopping their work and looking for another vendor. On the plus side, the drywall repair they _did_ complete was well done. Unfortunately, it wasn't completed and the rest of the process of working with them was extremely subpar.

      We contracted with Maxwell Building Services in late December, 2021 to have some work done as we are rehabbing our home. The contract was for sanding and finishing hardwood floors, building an entryway wall, finishing a small wall/ceiling area in the kitchen, installing a few additional cabinets and all new countertops. We requested the work be completed while we were away for 10 weeks and we were told it should be no problem. In preparation we completely cleared out the 4 rooms that were to have any work done. As Maxwell began to prepare for the work, we had several points of contact regarding the kitchen cabinets. Initially we had been told they could match the existing cabinets but were then informed that it would not be possible. We were provided a quote on replacing all the cabinets, but after doing a little research we found we could get matching cabinet doors, so we decided to hold off on that part of the project until we returned. After more than 8 weeks of the 10 we were scheduled to be gone, we were informed that the initial work of removing the existing lament floors in the living room, dining room and kitchen was completed. We were then informed that the kitchen did not have hardwood underneath as expected. We requested a quote to have hardwood installed to match the other floors and and agreed to the quote. We did inform them that we would be home in a few weeks and expected the work on the floors and walls to be completed prior to our return. We did not hear from the project manager again but did again inform him of our return. We arrived home on a Sunday evening to find that after the removal of the lament floor the only work started was the entry wall had been framed and dry wall nailed on, but it was not designed to our requested specifications. Additionally, when we went into our bedroom we found the master bathroom light had been left on and the toilet had been used, seat up and not flushed. We woke up early the next morning to the sound
