On or about Jan 5, 2022 my wife ****** and I signed a contract to purchase a tiny home from Elegant Rustic Cabins, LLC. The tiny home contract was for a total of $112000 and we wired $56000 on or about this date as per the contract. Recently we were trying to get information on the progress of production on our tiny home and some logistical information so as to have the pad ready for the tiny home when it arrived. ******** has refused to give us much of the requested information. For example, we asked where exactly the electrical box will be in the tiny home and she said she didn't have this information. We asked where EXACTLY is the production plant and she said somewhere in the south. We asked where EXACTLY her office was and she said somewhere in ********. We asked how many tiny homes were ahead of us in the production process and she evaded that question altogether. I have several emails from both my wife and I asking for clarification of different items and I continually get evasive answers. I want to know if I am dealing with a legitamate company or if I have been a victim of fraud. Help, I am very concerned.

      Business response

      09/09/2022

I have continually replied to every question, request, etc. from **** (and ******) ****** pertaining to their order. It is very clear that they are not happy with the timeframe, however, were very clearly told due to the Supply Chain Issues and Pandemic Shut-downs we are unable to offer concrete timeframes, as we are being blindsided with the above stated issues. They have continually been told via email and direct phone contact that they are still in the flooring/frame department awaiting their turn to go onto the actual production floor which will happen as the orders in front of them are completed. And that I will notify them as soon as they are on the floor, and continue to notify them of the progress. As for a contractor trying to reach me, for information provided months ago, I received several hang-*** (NO messages of any kind were left for me) and the next time the individual called I answered immediately having figured it just may have been their contractor. At which time I informed the contractor I has already given the information needed for him to do his work and then immediately sent it again. I have not in any way whatsoever varied in any way whatsoever from our original and thoroughly explained agreement/explanation as to how this process works. And I do not intend to either. As for the manufacturing plant, it is at this time (due to covid restrictions) not open to the public. Which was also fully explained (several times) to **** and *************************. We will be sending pictures as soon as the home is in the ******************* which is our policy (again, fully explained several times as well). And that if they would like, as we are closer to completion, I will set up an appointment for them to come and approve (which they will be doing all along with the pictures) the home at that time. We/I have corporate rules I need to follow (also thoroughly explained) and ********************* is clearly unhappy with the fact that I refuse to break those, and suffer the consequences for doing so. These rules and regulations, (which to my knowledge just about every company has), are there for a reason, and not there to purposely ***et anyone. They are there to be followed, which I will NOT vary from. And these rules were yet again, all very clearly explained from the very first contact with the ******* and have continually been explained/reiterated each and every time they yet again inquired about them.

In closing, I plan to continue to do my job to the fullest, as I have been doing, and the plant crew is doing the same. We are working on completing their home in the most timely manner possible, while facing issues due to semi frequent covid restrictions as well as the dilemmas caused by the supply chain issues. There is not a builder out there not experiencing exactly what we are again, fully explained from day one. If there is one thing I believe we all should have learned from this pandemic, its that we need to be patient and flexible. And I can guarantee you that I, my entire company and all companies associated with us and this entire business, are in fact doing our absolute best to minimize any issues arising from the above stated issues. And lastly yet again, I have very clearly verbalized and put in writing to the Wagners, all of the above several times. And of course have continually thanked them for their patience.

      Customer response

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your rejection of the business's response.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution. Please type details here:] I am still not sure that this is a legitimate business. I am not asking for too much here.  I want to know how many tiny homes are in front of us??  This doesn't involve giving any trade secrets or information I should not be able to receive.  I want to know the address of the plant and her office.  I promise I am not going to travel to the plant but I would like to verify by ****** maps that there indeed is a tiny home manufacturing plant and an office where I could see an individual or two that work there.  I am feeling like ******** is running the clock out and I am not willing to let her off the hook on basic business information.  Further, ****** & I would feel much better if we could talk with a few satisfied customers that have RECENTLY received a tiny home.  In addition, I want to know why Elegant Rustic Cabins LLC is NOT in good standing with the ******** Secretary of States office.  ******** answered NONE of our questions with her response.  This is EXACTLY what we are talking about.

      Regards,
