- Additional Business Information
- Believed to be out of businessAccording to information in BBB files, it appears that this business is no longer in business.Additional InfoBased on complaints we've received, BBB has determined this entity is not legitimate. The complaint on file alleges the company requested payment for a pet. Upon receipt of that payment, the company then sought additional payment for previously undisclosed fees - a hallmark of pet scams. The customer never received their pet.
The BBB offers the following tips to avoid scams when you're looking to adopt, sell or transport a pet:
* Beware of online or classified ads with multiple misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Many pet scams originate overseas, particularly Africa, so scammers usually do not have a good grasp of the English language.
* Don't be fooled by a well-designed website. Scammers can easily steal images and details from pet postings off the websites of legitimate breeders. Always research companies at BBB.org.
* Watch out for requests to wire money. This is usually a sign you're dealing with a scammer.
* Be leery of classified ads that promise cheap or free pets for adoption. These offers sound good, until the scammers tell you your pet is at the airport but you'll have to pay unexpected fees to continue the adoption process. The fees continue to mount and people eventually discover these offers were not legitimate.
* When selling a pet, never deal with people who offer to send you a check for more than the requested amount under the conditions that you wire the extra money back to them or any of their affiliates, such as deliverers or handlers.
The Minneapolis Police Department is asking anyone who has sent money to this entity via Western Union and not received their puppy to please contact Sgt. Herron at 612-673-6249 and report your experience. Based on complaints we've received, BBB has reason to believe this organization is not legitimate. The complaint on file alleges the company requested payment via wire transfer for a pet - a hallmark of pet scams. Upon receipt of that payment, the company failed to deliver the pet as promised. Another complaint alleges the information on this company's website was copied off of the website of a legitimate breeder.
