Randy's electric came quickly to give me a bid .Walked around to see my projects, and unlike other estimateres took no picture or notes. I gave them a list of what I needed done and asked that they give me an itemized bid. About a half hour later I had a bid that was almost double the highest bid (not including a panel upgrade, he said I'd need to upgrade my service panel over the 100 amps I have. I have two panels both of which he was shown that are over 100 amp, each has many open braker spaces. No other bidder mention a need for an upgrade to a panel. And for the bid, he gave only a total no itemized numbers per project at all. It was obvious to several people in our household he knew we were not going to choose his outrageously high bid and so he then asked if we want to do it on credit. It would be laughable except that we all knew we'd been played for the 75$ "bid", and realized this is more than likely their common practice.Randy's Electric Response

I would no stars if that were possible. In my 72 years of life I have never been ripped off this bad. They charged almost $6000 to install 5 lights and 2 circuit breakers, about 2 hours of work. DisgustingReview from Abby S.

Good luck with this place. They grossly over charge when you’re in a vulnerable position. They charged $3668.00 to replace one breaker move/replace an indoor outlet and replace an existing outdoor outlet. I’ve talked to multiple electricians since and both said the service performed should have been $700 on the high end. I realize every company is different but this is grossly taking advantage of consumers who don’t have power. I would not recommend this company to anyone. RidiculousRandy's Electric Response

We feel scammed by Randy’s electric. We called when a power surge hit our house. After the problem was identified as ‘at the pole’ and probably caused by a squirrel (per the utility), technician Tom assured us that the damage would be paid for by Xcel. He claimed to have extensive experience with just such claims, and that what we needed was a thorough list of the damaged items, verified by a certified electrician. He’s definitely an excellent snake oil salesman, and we bought the lie. He came back a couple days later with another technician and they spent a few hours documenting all kinds of things in our house that needed fixing or would likely need fixing soon. They charged us close to $1000. We submitted the claim, and it was immediately denied. Upon further investigation, we’ve learned that this kind of thing is always denied, unless gross negligence is found on the part of the utility. There’s no way that this guy and Randy’s electric did not know that. We do plan to talk to our lawyer (a family member) about suing to recoup that money. But I also want to warn anyone else out there not to fall for it!Randy's Electric Response

Hi ****, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration it has caused. At Randys Electric, we take such feedback seriously as it helps us to improve our services and customer satisfaction.Upon receiving your complaint, we conducted an internal investigation. However, we were unable to locate any records under your name or address in our system. This discrepancy is concerning, and we would appreciate it if you could provide us with more details (e.g., dates of service, invoice numbers) to help us accurately identify your case in our records.Regarding the situation described, it is our policy to provide honest and professional advice based on the information available during service visits. If it was suggested that utility companies may cover damages, this advice would have been given in good faith based on past experiences. We understand, though, that each case is unique and outcomes with utility companies can vary.We are disappointed to learn about the denied claim and the subsequent inconvenience you have experienced. We wish to clarify that our technicians provide assessments and services based on the immediate electrical needs of the household, and any suggestions for future repairs are part of our commitment to ensuring the long-term safety and efficiency of our customers' electrical systems. Please send us more details so we can pull up your job or you can contact me directly at ************ to discuss this matter further. We look forward to the opportunity to regain your trust and resolve this issue to your satisfaction.Sincerely,Randy Warner Customer Relations ********************Review from Michelle V

Our experience: We hired Randy's electric to do $16,000 worth of work at our home back in 2021. We should have shop compared since I've found out since they are much higher priced than other electricians and not worth it but we fell for the guarantee. We had trouble with circuits tripping every time we used our power washer, blow dryer, vacuum...so Randy's sent Jeremy. Jeremy had us believe the problem would be fixed by installing an entirely new circuit breaker box so we did that. It ultimately didn't fix the problem. We also asked if he could install a couple ceiling fans and also replace lights for us in several rooms since ours were so dim and he convinced us that the lights they sold were better than what Home Depot had so we went with theirs. Immediately after the work was finished we had ringing in the panels installed in basement. I called Jeremy out and he claimed he couldn't hear the ringing (weird) but the guy with him could hear it fine so Jeremy just said there was nothing that could be done about it. If we wanted them replaced with something else we had to pay for it. Then in December we had some flickering with the light panel Jeremy installed in our craft room. I called Randy's just to never get a response to my messages. The light panel eventually went from flickering to strobe light. In our experience Randy's guarantee was not worth the cost they charged because the guarantee was non-existent. If we could do it over I would have just bought the lights from Home Depot and had a handyman install them to save the money and headache. So that's our experience. They are VERY expensive, misleading, and they don't honor their so called guarantee. Ultimately we had to get another electrician to fix the issues.Review from Merilee L

From beginning to end the experience was great. The person who took the order was very professional and got a next day appointment which was needed for my outage. The team of Mike and Juan had great communications. I knew what they were going to do and the cost before they proceeded. They did a complimentary home inspection which was very helpful in understanding electrical issues that I might want to address in the future. They rewired my new wall lights so I could use the hardwire that was already present. Randy's will be my go-to from now on. Really felt confident in what they did and appreciated the knowledge of what I might do to enhance my electrical issues in my 100 year old house.Review from James B

Randy's takes advantage of inexperienced homeowners. Overcharged my son $2700 for an approximate $700 job. When asked to list materials, labor and profit, they realized that they had been caught and refused to provide the requested information. NEVER AGAIN!Randy's Electric Response

As we shared on the other platforms you posted, our Service Manager has attempted to speak with you about your son's experience and has sent the itemized receipt that our system provides. Our pricing was discussed upfront with your son for his project before the work began and he agreed to our moving forward with the work. We apologize for not showing you the value in our experience and work. Thank you for the feedback.
