I have been going to Goose Lake Marine for the past 3 years. This is what I experienced this year. He charged $400 for a tune up, wires, new cap, unclear from the invoice what else. On my second run of my Capri Bayliner it stalled on ***************. I arranged for his assistant to come repair my boat then the owner declined as he wanted more money and a signed agreement, so I found another mechanic. He came to the dock for $200. He told me the new wires were not tightened so there wasnt appropriate engagement. He replaced my starter and found it had water in it due to a missing gasket (Goose Lake Marine replaced this two years ago). *** told ****************** (owner) for the past 3 years my boat stalls in idle. This didnt get fixed. The new repair *** said the stalling in idle was an easy fix because the carburetor needs to be cleaned. With a new starter and cleaned carburetor, my boat runs great now. I spoke with ****************** (owner) and he will not acknowledge the poor tune up, loose wires and the missing gasket to my starter and his inability to diagnose a carburetor issue. I requested from him a reimbursement of $761.07 for my 2nd replacement of the starter ($341.64) the dock visit with a new mechanic ($200) and carburetor cleaning ($219.43). I would even accept $541.64 without the carburetor cleaning. It was difficult to get past invoices from ****************** and when I finally did, the work indicated was vague. I also attempted to correspond my concerns on his website and he said it didnt work because someone hacked it with the codes. So he would only correspond via text message. I expect some type of reimbursement and he will not acknowledge my request.
