Business charged me $700 cash to get my vehicle back after a tow. They would. It provide me a receipt that included the price. Per ** law a towing company must not charge more than $150 for the tow and $30 per day for storage. They broke ******** law. They also dont accept check or credit card which is also breaking ******** law.

      Good Afternoon,

The vehicle in question was towed due to not having a parking permit for the property, and not being parked in visitor parking. Residents need to be able to park on their lot, and not park off their property.

The vehicle was considered a medium duty vehicle, we had to use a medium duty truck and equipment for transport, and that's why the price was set like that.

      Customer response

      01/18/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

vehicle was being used during the time of tow for moving, it was our moving day and it was our moving vehicle. A note was in display on the dash stating moving vehicle for 1/13/24. This temporary notice was displayed. A $700 fine is absolutely predatory. You have also been reported to the ** attorney generals office.

i am seeking a refund for this as it was okd by the property to have this vehicle there for move in.

      01/19/2024

      WE ARE REJECTING THIS RESPONSE.

On the day of signing your lease, you have to put your permit in your vehicle. Otherwise, you have to be park in visitors parking, it is simple property rules to follow.

We will not be issuing a refund, as this was a fault on the vehicle owner for not displaying a parking permit and following property rules.

I called progressive for road side assistance on 12.30.22 at approximately 6:50 pm. Tyson ******************** was assigned. Estimated time of service 3 hours. Around 10:35 pm I called progressive back to ask where my service provider was. As I was talking with a rep who called me back I began to walk through my house. As I was doing this I noticed a disabled car in the middle of the street. I called for my husband to go out and assist if need be comes to find out after getting closer to the window it was our car. Yes the tow company had delivered our car to the middle of the street. Progressives rep had given me the number to ***** ******************** so I called. ** was the dispatcher I explained to him that they had left my disabled car in the middle of the street. I explained to him I had written very specific instruction to the tow company concerning where to place my car and that it wasn't in the middle of the street. ** explained to me that they only had one driver and he had many more tows to do and they could help me. He also was told me that they hadn't been paid for the service yet and wouldn't be paid for about two weeks as if that is a logical reason to leave our car in the middle of the street. He told me that they couldn't do anything about them ******************** my car from one location and abandoning it in the middle of the street. ** also made me ask him roughly 5 time who the owner was and how to contact him. I ask OJ if ***** Towing was going to reimburse us once the city came and tow our car because it was in the middle of the street he began to yell. I hung up on him after calling him a ignorant a** Me, my husband and a nice passer buyer had to push our car from the middle of the street to the curb where car a generally parked. They should not be paid for this! They should not be allowed to operate in this manner of at all.

To whomover this concerns. As you can see this customer has been extremely rude and unappreciative to our company for their services that we provided.  The streets and curbs of streets had not been plowed, so our driver put the vehicle down in a location that was best so he didnt get stuck and the vehicle owner did not get stuck either. To say that it was left in the middle of the street is a lie. We do not do well with dishonest individuals that try to take advantage of our services, be rude to our staff. For that, they absolutely will not be reimbursed.

Thank you for your time and concern in this matter

I am rejecting this response because: the curb was plowed. They made no effort to correct their blunder. I was not rude they were ignorant, telling me they only had one driver who was behind. This company does not deserve any money for the crappy service tow service or the horrible customer service they provided. They could have sent the driver back to prove I was lying. Did they no they didn't. We had to push our car out of the middle of the street. I want to be reimbursed, they deserve nothing.

As in the earlier response, we are denying your claim for reimbursement

I purchased a truck 4 day's prior to being towed out of an enclosed secure parking garage stall that is solely, reserved for me. I legally have 10 days to change title and register with the **** They towed my truck **** miles away. they wanted ****** for the tow and 40 dollars a day for the first week and then 60 there after. There where multiple day's where they wouldn't answer the phone and are now set up with appointment only. When I did get someone on the line I enquired if there is a cap to the amount. ******* Towing stated that there is not, and after 45 day's the company takes ownership of said vehicle to pay incurred charges. on day 12, I called to inquire what the total amount would be. I was told they don't have the numbers. I asked what day it was towed? I was told they didn't have the info. I explained that I would like to pick the truck up and needed to know. and that I will be filing in conciliation court. the man on the line stated that I'm never getting my truck back and hung up the phone. on day 16 I had an advocate call to set an appointment to retrieve my truck. ******* Towing stated that the company seized the vehicle after 14 days due to bad tabs.

      Business response

1st Id like to begin by saying that ****************** is not being truthful in his claim.

The apartment complex or (property) of which vehicle was towed from has a very strict policy for parking vehicles with expired tabs and registration on their property..

We are contracted to give them a ******************************************************************************************************************************* 24 hours or the vehicle will be towed.

This truck was tagged(givin 24 notice for no current registration ) and in fact, we gave them 48 hours to fix it then impounded the vehicle to our lot.

The distance it was towed had nothing to do with our current impound price. (Average or lower price than of most towing companies in the area)
The 1st day his total was $347.00. The break down if  that is $285 impound, $22 tax & $40 fuel surcharge.
Storage charges of $40 a day incurred after the 1st day at time of close (5pm)
The storage fees remained the same until the start of week 3 which it would be $60 a day for week 3-4, start of week 4 it would be $80 a day up until week 5 where it is $100 a day for the rest of the stay in storage.
After 5 days of not retrieving their vehicle, they were sent a certified letter to let them know that we had their vehicle and to arrange for retrieving it.

By law, the owner is in forfeiture to retrieve their vehicle after we have held it for 60 days.

We did explain this process to this customer each and every time they called to get pricing on their current bill.

We do feel that we did handle this process very professionally and do not feel that we are in the wrong for our order of operation here.

With this being said, we will not be reimbursing ***************** any funds as he did leave his vehicle abandoned in our lot and was given proper notice for retrieval. He chose to not come and pay his bill and retrieve his vehicle, so we disposed of it to an end of life facility

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:Well all she is saying is that im not truthful in my claim but doesent specify where im not being truthful. So what it sounds like Tysons towing is claiming. that I did have 60 days to retrieve my truck. that is exacly what I thought they would say. I am calling that a flat out lie. I have stronge substancial evidence to the contrary.I can prove I was told they claimed the truck was the company's after 14 day's. I am in the process of takeing this to conciliation court. absolutely mind blowing. I will be delivering a plaintiff's statement of claim, in person. And have been in contact with the office of the Attorny General in looking into this business as a preditory company.

***************** came and purchased this vehicle without even taking it for a test drive. She had her mind completely set on purchasing this vehicle, the minute she laid her eyes on it.  It was clearly explained to her that this was a vehicle that was impounded and was seized by our company.  We also explained that we did not know any history on this vehicle at all. She said she did not care and just wanted to buy this vehicle and without any hesitation paid in full at the time of purchasing it. She also was explained to that she was buying this vehicle as is and w/ no warranties, as well as signed the **** of sale saying this.
What ever she did to the vehicle after purchasing this vehicle was not our responsibility. In conclusion, we will not be refunding any money as it was again, bought as is with no warranty

      Thank you
