I hired LNG Landscapes in April, he charged me around ***** dollars for leveling and putting soil and grass seed down. He didn't put the quality soil down that I requested down, and he put down low quality soil and the grass won't grow and he did not put down enough soil.On two separate occasions When I called to complain about the poor soil I had received he said he would come out on both occasions and I waited all day for him on the days he said he would come and he never showed or called or contacted me.Upon the third time I reached him I told him the problem with the poor quality of soil and grass seed he said he would come over to check on the soil and grass and brought me a bag of grass seed as a gift for me to reseed my yard instead of bringing good dirt and reseeding the yard. I had to go and purchase my own high quality dirt and incurred in additional expenses due to the lack of quality of soil (that wouldn't grow any grass) received and serviced by LNG.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
I see that they consider this issue resolved, however I am not satisfied with the results and feel that more time and consideration could have been taken to find a resolution and would like the complaint reopened. I am not requesting a complete refund and do appreciate the time that has already been invested into the work thus far. I would much rather be proud of and happy with my lawn than receive any of my money back, but I would have been satisfied with a partial refund in order to purchase more soil and/or rent equipment needed to complete the unfinished work. I do not believe my expectations to be unreachable, and I believe that the work would have yielded much better results had **** considered my preferences for soil quality and quantity; I observed pieces of cement and rocks on my lawn that was from the soil applied by this company; I have had to take time to rake out these soil fillers. I have also rented a device to help level the sod from which I did not see a good result.
To start, the contract was for the yard, indicating sod on one side of the back yard, and soil placement, leveling and applying a sufficient amount of seed to the remainder of the yard. I was surprised when **** implied that a portion of the yard had not been included in the contract and after clarifying the expectations, there remains a small area on the north side of my lot that is in fact part of my yard that was untouched.
I was approached by **** while work was still in progress and asked to sign a contract. I believed that I was being asked to sign off on the work before it was completed. I trusted that the work would be sufficiently completed and signed the contract.
The company did a good job with the sod and it is growing nicely, however, I believe this is due to the soil from ******* that I had elected to purchase and spread prior to the sod installation. The only issue I have with the sod now is that there are still sections that are irregular, rough and uneven. The hope with this project was partly so that I could run the mower over the lawn without it being so bumpy, but this was not accomplished. It has also come to my attention that new sod must be rolled shortly after installation with a weighted leveling device, which was never done.
I had communicated to **** that I was unhappy with the irregularity of the soil on the side of the yard that was not sodded. **** was communicative initially and made appointments to come out but no-showed for two of the times he had committed to stopping by. Additionally, the times **** did come over, he viewed the area without completing any additional work that I requested. **** said that more soil had been used than originally planned for, however it simply did not fulfill my expectations and I have been asking for help to resolve this in some way, whether it be better soil, more sufficient leveling, or a portion of my money back. On ***** last visit in June, he had left a bag of grass seed for me to apply, but offered nothing further in terms of labor or soil.
