      Our motor went out on our AC unit yesterday. One of the hottest days of the year. Called Shay Mechanical, we were told it would be ****** extra because it was after hours. We were fine with that. We were quoted 2 hours labor, the motor and the ****** after hour fee. He quoted us ******. The daughter of the company showed up. Said the condenser was bad replaced it, Then she put the motor on, we were charged ****** for the motor. We found it on Amazon for *****. then she said the condenser was to small for the motor. So she replaced it with a larger one. It took her 3 1/2 hours. Everytime I went outside she was talking on her phone trying to get help. Finally someone from the company showed up and put it back together the right way. Then we were charged $655.00. I would give this company -5 stars if I could.

      Shay Mechanical is sorry you feel you didn't not get the service you deserved. As far as the motor being cheaper on ****** ,it may be cheaper but it doesn't come with a warranty. The price for afterhours labor is $140.00 per hour not $100.00 extra. The tech could have left the small capacitor on the unit and not changed it to the bigger capacitor but then you would eventually would have called someone for another service call to fix the capacitor. Shay Mechanical techs are trained to do a thorough job of going through a unit to hopefully find any other issues to be fixed on the one service call. Unfortunately, the tech did not ask you about fixing the capacitor before it was done. I will advise the techs to make sure to ask the homeowner if they want the problem fixed before they do the work.

      I hired this company to install a water line for my new dishwasher in ***************. The tech, ****, showed up at 9 am didn't have anything with him to do the job. My husband went to Boonville, 17 miles from ******, for **** to get the part and **** went to **********, 15 miles from ******, to work on another job. **** told my husband where to get the part and that they would know what he needed. **** went to **********, with another person and didn't return until 12:30. When he returned, **** told my husband he got the wrong part and he would go to Boonville to get the right part. He went to ********** and didn't come back until 4:30. I was charged 150 for labor and 50 for parts. **** turned the dishwasher on and said it was working.The next morning when we tried to use the machine there little water coming into the machine and it shut off. We called ********* appliance in ******** to come service the machine since we thought it was mechanical. When ********* arrived he looked under the machine and saw that the water line was kinked and wasn't allowing water to flow correctly into the machine.I was charged 100 for the service call. I called Shay Mechanical and told them of the issue.It took my husband and I calling several times to get to talk to the owner. When I informed him of the issue and that I felt we should get reimbursed for the charge from ********* he said that we should have called them back to check the problem. I told him that his tech said that the machine was working fine when he left so we thought it was a mechanical issue not the water line and that we were under the assumption that their person was just a plumber. ***** the owner was very rude and when I told him about my husband driving to Boonville to get a part to help **** out he said we were only trying to save money. I am not disputing the original charge to have the water line put in. I am disputing paying someone else to fix ****'s mistake. *************************

      Per **** Mechanical's policy, and most other business, if you are not satisfied or something is not correct which the company has done then the original company receives a call to go back to the project to fix the issue at no charge. If you call another company other than the original installers then the customer is responsible for the **** to the new company. Shay Mechanical is sorry you had such a bad experience with the company.
