I have a physical, written agreement signed by both myself and a gentleman named ***** -the owner of the company of Sterling Tree & Landscaping - that I would pay $1000 for the removal of the tree in my front yard, and they would take it down to 4-12 inches. There was also the option of $300 extra dollars if I would like the stump removed, and I would have mulch to fill said hole. I have paid them the $1300 as of 10/18 in cash. I thought it suspicious that they would only accept cash at the time of transaction, but they did a very good job for the first week, so I wasn't hesitant to pay in cash. However, It has been two months since they brought the tree down. The stump remains above 12 inches, and it has not been removed, nor has anything been done about it. The city of O'Fallon is insisting this be removed, at my expense - which I have already paid for - and even though I have three numbers in which to contact this company: Sterling Tree & Landscaping... None of them pick up, no matter how many times I attempt to contact them or leave a message. Their numbers: *** ************ ****** ************ ***** ************ ************ * **** ****** ** ***** ********* **** *** *** ***** *** ***** ** ***** and it does not exist. I have physical and electronic evidence both that this company does not exist. I am beyond the point of frustration. I feel no matter what I do I have been had. I have pictures verifying the tree remains above 12 inches, as well as the original document signed by myself and ***** for verification. The original document does state their terms. The other two are of my children playing on the stump before what lies next to it was taken away. The tree was brought down around 10/11 The stump remains. I hired this company trim my trees and haul away all the debris. The company did a nice job of trimming the trees, but failed to haul away all of the debris, they said they would have to return the next day, ************ did not return nor will they answer my calls. I will now have to pay another company $170.00 to complete the cleanup work I already paid this company to do.Customer response

The company came out and cleaned up the debris from the work they did. The owner refunded me $25 that I paid to another company I hired to do some of the work.
