My neighbor delivered a post card to me that was inadvertently delivered to her mailbox. This post card was sent from ******* Midden claiming that people have been trying to get ahold of me for " past due mortgage payments." I am NOT past due, nor have I been. This was not in an envelope & had my full name, address & also spoke of the county ************************** So now neighbors think I'm losing my house for non payment, as does my daughter because she was handed the mail. Their website claims they do business based on " integrity." How they "advertise" is the complete opposite. This sort of solicitation is preying upon the elderly and those less fortunate who will fall for the claims. The fact that I am a hard working single mother who now has to explain to my daughter and the neighborhood that I am NOT, in fact, losing my house for failure to pay bills is beyond embarrassing and disgusting. Not to mention, if I WERE unable to pay my bills, that would be a private matter and unacceptable to be blasted on a post card for all to see. People fall on hard times beyond their control. The very last thing they need is their information put out publicly by this development group.I'd also like to point out that NOWHERE on the post card does it say Midden Development. ( I obviously researched his name.) It is written in a way that makes you think you owe all this money and you HAVE to call him to prevent foreclosure. I wonder how many have fallen prey??If they are an upstanding agency like they claim to be, they need to stop sending these false claims out soliciting their business.

We reviewed the complaint and respectfully disagree with the customer. We actively help homeowners who are in a foreclosure situation either by buying the property outright or helping them negotiate a short sale with the lender. There are some situations where we could point the homeowners in the direction in helping them get a loan modification. We are not a scam as we have been in business for over ************************************************** the community. We sent our attached postcard template to the customer from a list broker that we buy the list from. Not every name on the list is accurate and some homeowners will receive the postcard when it does not apply. This is the case will all companies that implement any form of direct mail marketing. We have never mailed to this particular list before so we were not aware that customers were receiving this postcard when they were not behind on mortgage payments. We have stopped mailing that current list as we are re-working the verbiage on the postcard and adding a disclaimer to the postcard letting recipients know to disregard the postcard if it does not apply. It is never our intention to deceit or mislead a customer. We have removed the customer from the mailing list and we do apologize for any confusion and any problems this may have caused.

On June 24, 2024, I received a postcard from this business saying it could help me with my past due mortgage and foreclosure. My mortgage is not past due at all. The address is for ******************* and Midden Development Group. I think these companies are scamming homeowners and need to be stopped. It should be illegal.

I am rejecting this response because:

My mortgage is not in foreclosure and Im NOT late on ANY payments! Sending this is irresponsible and, I think, deliberately targeting seniors in order to ******* them out of their home. I do not think this is a reputable or upstanding business. And, sending this information via postcard, if it were true, instead of privately is designed to publicly and deliberately embarrass the recipients. I want this business to remove ALL my contact information from ALL their databases.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

We do not target our mailing lists by age. So we have no idea what the age is of the customers we are mailing to. Once again, no list provider is perfect and the information provided isn't always the most accurate. We wouldn't waste the money on postcards to help homeowners who are in foreclosure if they were not behind on payments to begin with. This is a new list we are mailing to and clearly the customers name was on there by mistake. I understand the frustration with the customer but want to make very clear that we have no intention of wrong doing. We have taken the customer off of the mailing list so they will no longer receive any correspondence from us.  We have been in business for over 14 years and have renovated many properties in ********** that have helped improve neighborhoods by bringing in homeowners that will hopefully take good care of the home. The customer can call me anytime at ************ to discuss any questions or concerns they may have. We can't apologize enough for any inconvenience we may have caused.
