Bought a 10x20 shed to build into a she shed. Put a couch out there. Over the winter the mice made a nest and tore up my couch because there was a 3/4 inch gap under the door. They did not want to fix this matter. Told me to cut a piece of wood and put it in the opening. I have 3 ******* sheds and none of them have openings at the bottom of the door. Please be aware of there customer service

    Summit Portable Buildings Response

    08/12/2023

Hello all, The above stated complaint is 1 of many since the original purchase date of 2/17/2020. We have worked with this customer on multiple complaints with this building. We have been to the site multiple times, changed out options to help satisfy customer concerns but it simply leads to another issue. At one point we offered to buy the building back so customer could purchase another building from a different manufacture to which the customer declined. The issue regarding the doors is not a warranty issue. The customer was recommended to go with pre-hung doors before the building was delivered due to its intended use by customer. The exterior wood doors that are on this shed do not seal tight like pre-hung doors. The complaint of the gap referenced is due to the design of doors which is standard for the portable shed industry. I took photos of 4 ******* buildings (to which customer referenced) with double wood shed doors to show how they are the same and will be happy to show anyone that *** have questions in regards to this complaint/gap. These doors are not guaranteed and advertised as mice proof for this reason. Under normal circumstances mice cannot climb through this small gap that is referenced due to building being at least 10 or more from the ground. However this building has a ramp leading up to the bottom of doors which creates easy access for mice. All exterior double wood doors have a small gap of 3/8-3/4 x 3/8-3/4 depending on siding thickness on building and double wood door frames spacing. Door frame spacing require at least 3/8-3/4 space to work properly otherwise there are inoperable. This has been explained to the customer and why it was recommended for pre-hung doors in the first place due to what the building was going to be used for but money was an issue so these doors were chosen by customer instead. As always ********************** strives for customer satisfaction but unfortunately this is the only customer weve not been able to satisfy. We are sorry that we could not do that and we recommend her to find a manufacturer that can for all new purchases in the future.
