A contract to replace our rotted deck railing was signed on 10/04/21 and we paid $1,875 as a downpayment. Over the next three months, in the midst of managing to overcome communication issues on behalf of the business, at least two start dates were agreed upon that did not happen. When the railing was finally removed in mid-December, additional rotting was discovered that would require more extensive repair. The scope of the work changed such that the initial contract was invalid and the additional costs proposed were unacceptable. On 12/22/21, we asked for a return of our downpayment minus the cost of labor expended to remove the old railing. Within an hour of sending that email, a crew from the business trespassed on our property to remove lumber and supplies that had been delivered for the job. Despite repeated requests to resolve the matter, the business has not responded.
