Urgent Warning: Home Performance Group's Unethical Practices Exposed I am writing to share a nightmarish experience with Home Performance Group that should serve as a red flag to anyone considering their services. Recently, one of their employees, Shane Chambers, crashed into my stopped vehicle at a turn light while working & driving a Home Performance Group company van. What followed was a cascade of lies, deceit, and an utter lack of accountability. Despite initially appearing to have valid insurance, it was shockingly revealed that Home Performance Group is uninsured!! The insurance verification they provided matched the vehicle and the date range was legit … but that proved to all be invalid once their insurance agency, Secura, responded. The deceit doesn't stop there—Elizabeth, their so-called “authorizations” gatekeeper of all phone calls and emails, has gone silent, blocking any attempts to address the situation and failure by “management” to respond. This company not only lacks insurance but also basic decency and responsibility. Their verbal assurances to resolve the matter were nothing but empty promises that dragged on for over a month, showcasing a complete disregard for integrity. What's even more appalling is that this company is registered to Randy L. *****, who claims to be a retired US Army officer of 26 years. Yet, there's no honor in their actions. When faced with accountability, they cower behind administrative staff and refuse to answer calls or emails. This incident is not just about a wrecked vehicle; it's a warning that Home Performance Group is a disgraceful business that should be avoided at all costs. Do not be fooled by their misleading claims and military affiliations—they lack the courage to lead and the decency to respond. I contacted HPG for a HVAC repair on 9/5/23. The compressor went out and we decided to replace the unit instead of repairing. After several discussions on what needed to done and which model to install we agreed on a price. We gave them a deposit of $3228.80 10/04/23 to order the unit and move forward. They recieved our equipment on 10/19/23 and sent us an email saying they made a mistake. Our previous quote of $7673 was incorrect the correct quote would be $11,664. On 10/20/23 they agreed to honor the agreement we signed on 10/04/23 but it would be a few more weeks to get the new parts. On 11/14/23 the technician showed up to install the new unit and once again there was a problem. After two previous site visits in addtion to the service calls the techincian told my wife he couldn't intall this unit without running wiring up the side of our house into the attic. Of course the that would be an additional charge and we would have to reschedule. When the technician left that night he said someone from the office would stop by the next day to discuss the wirinfg issue. No one showed. I callled on 11/16/23 and asked what happened to the visit. They said they got tied up and would be stopping by that day. I asked that they bring a check for my deposit in case we couldn't come to an agreement. instaed of a visit I got an email from thier Vice President saying he was going to refund our deposit. On a differnet not I called Hale's Heating and Cooling on the morning of 11/17/23. They came out that day, gave me a proposal and installed the new unit on 11/24/23. One week start to finish verus 12 weeks of nothing with Home Performance Group. It is 11/27/23 and I have not recieved the refund.Review from Susan B

The worse experience ever. Their tech came out to replace my air handler in July. They didnt bring heat strips. Had to wait another month for them to install. While waiting for heat strips. The air conditioning stopped working. They wouldnt come out and fix the problem they created until heat strips came in. Then they replaced my thermostat. They said that would fix the problem. Its now Dec 24. The emergency heat didnt come on because the thermostat they replaced it with was the wrong one. They didnt reseal lines going into the house to the outdoor unit. *****,Thank you for the feedback. It is true that we serviced and replaced your air handler in July of 2021. At the time of installation, the heat strip kits were on backorder due to delays in manufacturing from COVID-19, but we wanted to ensure you had air conditioning since it was the middle of the summer and very hot outside. We installed the air handler allowing you to be cool, and then would come back later to install the emergency heat strip kits. We did this as a courtesy and a favor to you because we didnt want you to suffer. Unfortunately, while waiting for your heat strip kit to arrive, the control board of your air handler failed under warranty. This was a manufactures defect and no fault of ours. The warranty company refused to pay ** to perform a second trip to repair the system until all parts needed arrived. Please keep in mind that we are an advocate for you, working through your warranty company to provide service. We are certainly on your side, but without their approval, we cannot provide any additional service, and in this instance they did not authorize ** to go back until all parts had arrived. We did warranty the thermostat as a precautionary measure, because shorts in the system, especially on the low voltage side can cause other issues and we didnt want you to have a secondary breakdown. It wasnt an incorrect thermostat that was installed, but rather a defective tstat that we proactively replaced. Once again, we did this as a courtesy to ensure you had no further problems. Regarding your frozen pipes and water leak, we did not replace the line set or any components outside your home, so any leaking of air that took place within your basement and caused frozen pipes, would not have been caused by any service that we performed.I have used your feedback to enhance our services moving forward and will ensure all future customers receive the best care that can be provided.Review from Chris H

Nick ******* showed up on time with all the right tools to professionally and quickly diagnose the issues I was experiencing with my appliances.
