Took my 2022 Taos SE in for a service and rear brakes on September 12th. It had no engine problems before this. During the repairs my car went into limp mode for misfires and on October 17th they called saying the car was fixed. If you spend some time online it's clear that misfires on these engines rarely go away. Multiple owners complained of ongoing scenarios where their vehicles dropped into limp mode following repairs. I have zero faith in the safety and reliability of this vehicle and all I did was take it in for a service. Volkswagen claimed that the dealership says it's safe to drive and that I must pick it up. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a lawyer or a rental car to get me by until VW makes a decision on buying back the car. Now I get to take risk my family's safety and those that also commute on I-70 in KC. Evidently, it's a risk that Volkswagen and the dealership deem acceptable. I do not and have made sure everyone in my life know the situation these entities have put me in. This is my 3rd and last VW from this dealership.

Ryan, thank you for your feedback. I can understand your frustration and concern with a newer vehicle having issues and I apologze for that. You are correct, it would not have just gone away on it's own. Your vehicle did have a major repair completed regarding the misfire of your vehicle. VW of America would not have you driving a vehicle if they did not believe the repair fixed the issue. In addition, they did send out a Quality Control Manager to oversee the fix. I have faith that VWOA has stepped up and will continue to do the right thing. If we can be of further assistance with any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out. Thank you

After reading these reviews, it sounds as if we dodged a bullet. We were working with the dealership to purchase a used vehicle for my son. My husband and son went out 24 hours ago and test drove the car. We indicated that we were interested and would like to have it inspected by our mechanic and set up an appointment for that. We were told that the car was going to be sent to a wholesaler so there was nobody else interested in the car. The car was to be inspected tomorrow afternoon, I was called over my lunch hour today, indicating that someone was coming in to purchase the car and they were going to give them the same price that they were offering to us. The individual was already on their way out to the dealership to purchase the car. There is a good way to do business and a poor way to do business- this was the latter and the reason I will never engage with this dealership again and will provide this same cautionary feedback to anyone that asks- I'll also direct them to the several other one-star ratings that apparently illustrate their poor service and business practices. Makes you wonder how the BBB has an A+ rating when the average set of reviews for this company is 1.73/5 stars.

In August of this year. I leased a new 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line from Lee Summit Volkswagen. Also, part of this transaction, I traded in my 2016 Volkswagen Passat R-Line that I purchased from Volkswagen of Lee Summit in 2016. Also a down payment was applied along with this lease of the 2024 Tiguan. A day later I received a promotional email from Volkswagen of Lee Summit, stating that any purchase or lease of any new Volkswagen the purchaser would receive a $1000 cruise certificate. The next day I returned to the dealership to drop of title documents from my 2016 Passat, and immediately inquired about why the cruise offer was not presented to me at the time of purchase. The response peculiar at best, so I went home and researched the promotion online. In which I found that this was Lee Summit Volkswagens 10th year anniversary sale event. A day or so later I received a message from Lee Summit stating that an email was sent to me and all I needed to do was sign it and send it back. After reviewing the email, I was surprised to see that it was a Declaration and Release form from the promotional offer that had the box checked that I refused the offer, and it was postdated 17 September 2024 along with signatures from the finance manager and desk manager. After speaking with the finance manager who stated that since they gave me more for my trade the promotion did not apply to me. At this time, I refused to sign the form stating my displeasure with their actions, since the offer never stated anything about being disqualified due to purchase discounts or trade discounts. This to me is an unethical practice that is unbecoming of a dealership that promotes and sells the Volkswagen brand which is an impeccable reputation as a leader in automotive Enginuity. I'm heart broken and this may be the last time I purchase or lease from Volkswagen of Lee Summit. Below I have attached the link to the owner Jeff D**** TV ad. https://youtu.be/7rvab1jVez4?si=6l5kN-Uka3RK9lkY

Thank you Derwin for taking the time to speak with me. I apologize that the communication was not prompt with our title clerk. Just let us know when you are back in town, as I mentioned before you do need to come in to the dealership to sign the forms to activate the cruise voucher. Thank you again!

Lee's Summit VW owes us over $1600 in penalty, services, and tax reimbursement. About every other week for over three months, when I think we get close to them doing the right thing, they quit responding to e-mails and calls. Last, my wife's credit was ran more than once, which may have future impacts to her credit score. See full google review for details.

VW Lees Summit lied about the vehicle they sold me. They lied about the rebate as well. Then when I continually let them know that the vehicle (ID.4) would not meet my driving needs (ID.4 would only travel 153 miles when it is cold out on 100% charge - I was told it would go 405 miles on a 80% charge, I was told there are free charging stations everywhere, which is absolutely not accurate and the lies went on and on and on). I called and complained repeatedly. So the sales manager told me (three times) "can't say this, but if you were my friend, church member or sister I would tell you to just give it back. They auction it. We have customers do it all the time, some 2-3 time. It's the only way out...." They were unethical from the start. They would not help me - they say they did, but they absolutely did not. I am stuck paying a huge amount of money for a vehicle I could not use. I tried to call and email Jeff D**** - they gave me his incorrect email twice, I asked them to send an email to him for me - they never did. The BBB recommended I open a case with the Attorney General and I have. For 10 months I have tried to figure out a fair settlement with them. But it all went nowhere. I have never worked with a more unethical organization.

Before you take the time to read this review, please understand we have been dealing with this service department since 2018. The service department in this dealership is inept, unprofessional, antiquated and has no class or customer relations at all. They have provided the most horrible experiences we have ever encountered in 40 years of owning and maintaining vehicles. We are a 1st time VW owner and they have managed to make these experiences so bad we will never own another one. They are not even competent enough to perform an oil and filter service. I have over 30 years of experience working in and around car dealerships and have never seen a more incompetent service department and it all starts with the service manager/general manager (Scott Craig) if you are looking for a dysfunctional and dishonest service department, he will be your guy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the service experience with your 2012 VW Beetle. We are sorry for any miscommunication that may have occurred during your visit. Fortunately, part of diagnosing any concerns with a vehicle is running a scan of the vehicle. The scan time stamps any faults that have occurred. The time stamps show the faults occurred before your vehicle was worked on in our shop. This was verified with you by the Shop Foreman and the Service Manager. . We strive to provide a professional and efficient service experience for every customer. If you would like to discuss your experience further or if there is anything else we can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us at 816.600.4224. Your satisfaction is important to us. Thank you, Sheryl

I took my 2019 vw Tiguan to this dealership hoping since it was purchased from them originally I would get a good deal. I spent over 6 hours trying to make a deal they ran my credit with 6 different lenders at once, so now I felt obligated to trade my vehicle in cause if I didn’t I would have to run another credit check anyway long story short it took them 4 days to bring me my car when I was promised it would be sooner it wasn’t and I had to ask again for them to drive it to me because I had no other vehicle lots of miscommunication I wasn’t given a loaner car. Now I don’t want this car the tire pressure light is constantly going off we have to keep refilling the air. I want to give it back and claim lemon laws but since it’s a 2015 I have to file with an attorney I’m stuck with a car I don’t love and I felt taken advantage of because I’m a woman. I don’t want this car

I have owned a 2022 Taos that I purchased in November 2023 and it has sat in a shop for a month with fuel issues. They tell me that I am not putting top tier fuel in the car while I have purchased premium only the past two months. They put me in this car and "certified" it with a warranty but when they fix the issue: it's with an additive and the check engine light comes on within days. When I asked the service rep, A*****, she stated that there are fuel issues with Taos right now. Do NOT come here and purchase a car. They only care about the sale and upselling their product and cannot or will not back it up with a warranty. Volkswagen has gone down hill and is producing low quality vehicles.

This place sold me a lemon. The car is supposed to be under warranty and I have no car. I’m making a car payment, paying car insurance and I don’t have a car. The car broke down 3 months after purchase and over charged me $30,000 more than what the car is worth. I let the finance manager and my salesman know that something was wrong with the car and they both told me the car had been serviced and there guys didn’t turn the lights off. The finance manager who worked on the account also told me that he “worked his a** off to get me in this car”. I was told from the salesman over the phone that I was approved and all I had to do was come in and sign the paperwork and bring my insurance. This place has not been willing to give me a loaner car or compensate me for the break down of the vehicle. Not to mention I’ve been getting rides to get around for my family and I and have spent $300 just to get to work and school alone. In the meantime I’m still responsible to pay for this car and I don’t have a reliable means of transportation to continue to support my household. The Relations manager let me know this morning that I can get a co-signer to get a better vehicle or put 50% down. This vehicle is a 2022 with less than 35000 miles with a warranty. This place has no compassion, and is only concerned about making a sale. I believe if it happened to them they would not be happy. I’m just getting the runaround and no date as to when there able to look at the vehicle. The service department let me know that there is no definite date to look at the vehicle for a diagnosis because their backed up. I don’t even have a date to when I can get the car fixed. Worst experience ever. I would not ever purchase a vehicle from Volkswagen ever again. This place should be shutdown. I don’t advise anyone to purchase anything from here.

**** WARNING *** AVOID VOLKSWAGEN OF LEE'S SUMMIT AT ALL COSTS. In 2021, we purchased two VW Atlas's from Matt O*****n, the GM at VW Lee's Summit. However, shortly after buying the vehicles, we started experiencing multiple issues such as squeaky brakes, a malfunctioning radio, and rough idling. Despite visiting the Volkswagen of Lee's Summit department several times, none of these issues have been resolved. The service manager, Scott C****, has also been unhelpful. Recently, the check engine light of one of the Atlas's came on, and we took it to Volkswagen of Lee's Summit for diagnosis. To our dismay, we found out that it was a documented and well-known issue by Volkswagen. The service department informed us that they would need to charge $2K just to investigate further, and then it could cost another $5K+ for additional parts and labor. To make matters worse, their sales department smelled blood in the water and used this as an opportunity to contact us about, offering to trade in our three-year-old VW Atlas that was purchased in 2021. Matt O*****n then tried to take advantage of the situation by offering a mere $10K for our there-year-old VW Atlas that was purchased in 2021 for $36K. Overall, the dealership's customer service and professionalism have been deplorable. Therefore, I caution anyone to stay as far away from Volkswagen and Volkswagen of Lee's Summit as possible.
