We paid him **** dollars for a deposit.   We estimate he spent 490 dollars for delivery of *** boards but we cancelled the contract and now he refuses to return our deposit. We never signed anything but he claims we pushed a button and now we are not obligated to receive a refund even though we notified him of our decision within 3 business days. He threatened us and has threatened us and treated us with extreme hostility. We have requested repeatedly for him to send us a copy of the contract he says we signed but he refuses. We have a copy of the initial estimate for labor and materials.   He has mocked us by text messages and we have confirmation that he has received all correspondence including a certified letter we sent  him.  We calculate that he owes us **** dollars but we are willing to accept **** dollars from him. Which account for the material we confirm he spent.   He told us we are obligated to pay him  for his administrative hours, gas for his truck, and other materials which we never got and know he did not purchase with our deposit.  We have asked him for receipts for the materials he says he bought but he refuses to provide that proof either.   We offered him 50 dollars for his time and we are willing to pay what ***** would have charged us for the materials.  If he provides proof of what he spent we would adjust our total due.  One of the *** boards he delivered was damaged but we are still willing to pay for it.

This is why I have a contract that states how to deal with issues that the client has not read. These people have been rude, they are liars and extremely difficult people. They have insulted me and bullied me and as a business owner I do not have to tolerate such behavior. These people have exaggerated dollar amounts, time frames and basically everything they or I have done because they did not read my contract and thought I would do what they said and when when we had a contract stating how to conduct ourselves and what can and can not be determined by who and when and what will happen in the event of this or that and what actions are to be taken. Client did not retract their contract before the right of rescission or after all of the materials had been purchased. Materials had been delivered and the client demanded that the material be replaced dye to "the ink not coming off when you sand it" which I sent them a video of me sanding it off at **********. ***** was very demeaning saying "he doesn't even know what day it is do you?" After that I refused to agree to any more demands of my time as I was scheduled to have the materials and start 2 weeks before they called me on a Saturday to tell me the plywood wasn't acceptable after we discussed why what and how I was going to meet their needs. They wanted a plywood finish for their basement laundry room with moisture and rats, rot and swelling not good choice and they went for it anyways after I tried to talk them into a more viable material. Later, they said it was a bad idea and blamed me, said I was incompetent when these people couldn't find my address when it's on my contract in the header and stated first paragraph and the last next to my signature. They went as far as to do a been verified search for my last address but couldn't read my contract not one single time? All of this to include the demand for more of my time for this this BBB complaint which I am not a member of is ridiculous. The client has been so outrageous with their claims and will not listen to any reasonable offer I have made to make this right as their math and reasoning about what I owe them is totally unfounded. They should read the contract and treat someone who is hard working and knowledgeable with respect. Resorting to name calling and threats- this is the last I will deal with them or their complaints with the lies they are using to bully me out of anymore of my time and patience and goodwill.
