Above the Rest Painting left my home in worse shape after a 6-week contract signed 9/25/21. They were supposed to remove the cedar wood on the exterior of the home, replace with hardiboard and then paint all the brick. I wrote a check on 10/2/21 to ********************* for $7,775 (1/3 of the total) as a down payment. They were supposed to start early October & finish November 16 per contract. They came to my house a total of ~4 times in those 6 weeks & did maybe 8 hours of work. I have pictures where they removed numerous ************** of old cedar wood, but never replaced anything & never even started painting. I was assured nearly each week that they would be there in the morning and they were never at my house before noon. They kept saying they were "busy on another job." This couple was a boyfriend/girlfriend and even asked me if I knew someone that could help them do the job. They did damage to my home: the never replaced gutters on the back of my ********** had a terrible rain storm one weekend. I had water leaking from the ceiling in my living room due to the way they left things uncovered. I have a video of ********* never fixed/paid for the damage done inside my home from that. My husband and I had to put a large tarp over the 2nd floor exterior door and windows to temporarily fix until someone else can. They also nailed a few boards into my roof, Im assuming so they had something to stand on, but my roof is now ruined and will need fixed. These people were super unprofessional, left sharp wood pieces, *********+ staples all over my ****************** clean up (I have pics of how they left the place). They brought all brand NEW tools with them as well, which makes me think they've never done this kind of work before. They stole my money, lied to me, and I told them I would be speaking with a lawyer if they didnt pay me back the difference of the materials purchased & what I paid them. I havent heard from them since Nov 16 & I never received $ back or receipts
