I wanted to purchase a V6 4 wheel drive Jeep. We were specifically looking for a 4 wheel drive vehicle. ********************* told that he had a one. I tried to buy floormats and had to enter my vin number to get the right one. When I entered it, It said that my car is a 2 wheel drive. I called up the the dealership and was told by **** that he didn**;t know why he would have told us it was a 4 wheel drive when all paper work state that it is a 2 wheel drive. I cant give the car back because invested too much money in it.Business response

Mr. ***** ***************** worked with ********************* on the purchase of their vehicle from us, Tim's Used Cars. Mr. ***** ***************** were interested in more than one Jeep and were provided information and test drives on all interested vehicles. Mr. ***** ***************** chose to purchase the 2014 ********************* ***************** on 09/19/2023. Please see attached documentation showing: original ******** Marketplace **************************************************************** verifying information on 2014 ********************* ***************** as a Front Wheel Drive or 2wd vehicle, **** Power ****** value that lists the completed vin, year, make, model of vehicle nowhere indicating it as a 4 wheel drive vehicle-which buyer's lender would have also used to determine the value at date of sale, Bill of Sale signed by customer that nowhere indicates that it is a 4wheel drive vehicle, and a copy of the original signed Autocheck report that does not indicate the vehicle as a 4 wheel drive.
After some length of time **************** contacted **** at the dealership and made him aware that he wished to purchase a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The comment made by **************** stated, "I called up the the dealership and was told by **** that he didn't know why he would have told us it was a 4 wheel drive when all paper work state that it is a 2 wheel drive"-this conversation is true. If it's clearly listed as a Front Wheel Drive we would not have sold it as a 4 wheel drive. **************** was interested in more than one Jeep and believe this may have caused confusion. **** has tried to work with **************** to find a vehicle that suits him better. **** recently has a conversation with **************** about a different vehicle that he may be interested in, however, **************** has decided to stop answering his phone calls. We had no idea this complaint was coming and took it as a complete surprise.
We do not believe **************** is owed anything. He purchased the vehicle for $ 14,400. At the time of sale the Retail Value according to ************** was listed at $ 14,775. **************** purchased the 2014 Jeep Cherokee at fair market value as a Front Wheel/ Two Wheel Drive vehicle not as a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

I reject this business response. Their statement's are false. They claim we test drove several vehicles but we only tested 1. They claim to be trying to contact me via phone and this is also false.Business response

We reject the statements made by ****************. He was sold the 2014 Jeep at Fair Market Value as previously documents and is owed nothing. We stand by our original statement.Customer response

I am rejecting the response of Tim's Used Cars. He looked right at the piece of paper that said two-wheel drive, and he said it was a four-wheel drive. When I test drove it, I asked where to shift it into four wheel drive, and he answered they don't have one. He explained there is not a switch, and the car switches automatically. After I saw it was two-wheel drive based on the *** number, I noticed that it said two-wheel drive. I took it back to the dealership. He looked under the car, and he confirmed it was only two-wheel drive. He asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I told him I wanted a four-wheel drive. He said he would try to find one for me. He said it would cost more. I don't feel I should I have to pay anymore for the car. I already put money into this car to improve it. Also, they fixed warranty items with used parts.
