I hired this contractor 8/11/23 I put down $4,000 cash for down payment for work in my basement remodel. He worked with my insurance company, I thought that the down payment was somewhat high, but I was showing good faith,he started right away and since then it's been hard to get hold of him. He promised to get the job done in about a week and a half, he has not done so. He just drop strangers at my house and he doesn't introduce them. I caught him in breach of his contract and I asked him to amend it and he refused. He now avoids me and he tell me that he is coming over and never shows. I have to call him and he might answer the phone and then he has plenty of excuses. He still hasn't finished the job yet but I am tired of chasing him to complete the work that he has been paid for.

We had a contract with ************** last month about having our basement done. We both agreed that he would do our basement and our bathroom. The problem was working with him, when it comes to him having time it was not working. We agreed at 8am and he showed up at 9:30 am. It took him 3 days to do the plumbing. He only gave 2-3 hours a day to do the work. I didn't understand this for someone who has a business. He was working somewhere else, he was limited on time I guess. We found out the plumbing wasn't done right because we had standing waster in our basement drain. A couple weeks later he did the same thing. It took approximately 3 weeks instead of 1-2 weeks to finish the whole project. Around June 14, we talked about correcting the drain in the basement. We have been back and forth about the day and the time, there is always something coming up about him being on time and showing up. A couple of times we told him not to come because he wants to come after hours, 5-5:30pm. He frustrated us. Today was the last day we were going to put up with him making excuses. We gave him a whole week to make up for this and here we are today we didn't receive anything in response to the problem with the drain. He hasn't corrected the problem about the standing water in the basement.I requested to get back $1,000 so we can get someone else to correct the water in the basement.Customer response

The business has finished the drain and he did give me the paid in full document and a lien waiver as requested. Home owner's Be ware, it was a frustration of getting the job.
