I purchased an audiobook from Audiobookstore.com in October. In July, I noticed a recurring charge of $9.95 on my credit card on the 6th of each month since the initial purchase. I was unaware that I had purchased some type of "flexpass" and that it would be a recurring charge, and I never purchased another audiobook during this period. From October until July, I was charged for a service I did not use. When I canceled my account, I had no access to any other books.Initial Complaint

I purchased 4 books from them in 2022 and canceled my subscription at the end of the year. They are still charging my credit card 18 months later. I've attempted to cancel on line and there is no option to do that and I've also attempted to remove my credit card and there is no way to do that either. I've had to request a new credit card number and they are somehow still making charges. I have sent emails and left several phone messages without any response. This site is clearly a scam and should be shut down for this type of activity.Initial Complaint

I am requesting a refund of $19.90 from this seller because it charged my credit card without authorization.On 12/12/2023, I purchased an audiobook from the seller (order #*********). I paid $9.95. The seller advertised it as a one-time purchase, and I made sure to check that it was not a subscription.I recently discovered by looking at my credit card statements that the seller has been charging me $9.95 per month since then (January 12 and February 12). I had to create an account with the seller to be able to cancel this unauthorized subscription. I did this a few days ago and received an automatic response email acknowledging that I had cancelled my subscription. The total unauthorized charges are $19.90. The seller's website will not let me remove my credit card information. On 2/21/2024, I called the seller but was not provided any opportunity to speak to a live person. I left a message asking for a refund of $19.90 and stating that I had never authorized the seller to enroll me in a subscription program and that if I did not receive a refund, I would submit complaints to BBB and to the ************************* of the state in which the business was headquartered. I emailed the seller on the same date asking for a refund. I emailed the seller again on 2/23/2024. I have never received any responses to my call or emails. On 2/24/2024, I called my bank and submitted a dispute for the two unauthorized credit card charges in January and February.Customer response

My son, ***************************, purchased a $100 gift certificate from this website, Audiobookstore, as a Christmas gift to me. A this point in time, I have been unable to use this gift certificate. After weeks of having my email blocked making it impossible to change my password and access the website, Audiobookstore.com won't allow me to use my gift certificate, and refuse to communicate with me by blocking my IP address on their chat service, keeping their customer service number on perpetual out of service, and ignoring my emails.Customer response

I bought an audio store as a one-time-only purchase. I just realised you have been charging monthly for 3 months. Very unhappy to be scammed by your company. Can you please refund 2 months? In December I placed an order for a $50 credit gift card. When I received my **** statement there was a charge for $150. There was no way on the website to make that mistake. I have tried for a month and a half to obtain satisfaction from this company. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and Audiobooks told me that they would not refund my money until I dropped the dispute I had with ****. I did and they have not dropped the charge. I am going to contact the ******** ******** ******* and if necessary I will file legal action in the appropriate county too. This is obvious fraudulent activity.Customer response

AudiobookSTORE.com has charged me a monthly fee of $7.95 for several months even after cancelling my credit card and getting a new one. I have never used this website to purchase anything but somehow my card keeps getting charged as if they do not just have card information but bank account information. I do not know if this is a scam pretending to be this buisiness fraudulently or if this buisiness is secretly charging people these monthly payments. I have found MANY online reviews with people stating the exact same issues and when expressed to customer service the problem goes unresolved and charges continue even after reporting to their personal banks as fraud. I do not have statements from the first instance form when I noticed the charges as I thought it would have been resolved after changing credit cards. I do have a proof of at least one charge (the most recent when it happened again). I just want them to stop charging me and never charge me again as I have NEVER used this site and it is flat out theftInitial Complaint

I purchased an Audio book in 1/10/2019 in order to prepare for my volunteer work as a chaplain. The company has without my knowledge or consent charged me monthly $7.95 monthly since then. I have never used their product again and they have charged me over $2,500 in the intervening years for a service that I never requested. When I contacted them they offered me a credit for $15 This is egregious. They should be forced to issue a refund. Thank youInitial Complaint

This website/App does not have a link or page where you can cancel your subscription. Once youre a member, youre stuck indefinitely with their monthly fee. All I want is to cancel my membership. Thank you! I called their customer support number, and an automated voice asked to leave a message. It shouldnt be this hard to cancel an audiobooks subscription!
