They are great when you are great but if you miss a payment they are like stalkers and aren't afraid to show up at your door and harass your kids. They aren't afraid to call you repeatedly at work even if you request they don't. They aren't afraid to call your family members or call you 15 times in a row repeatedly until you answer. Is this even legal? I think they should pay me for the stress.Tower Loan Response

Tower policy is to attempt to work with any customer that is experiencing temporary difficulties. ********* in this process is an active two-way line of communication. In this case, my review reveals that only Tower is attempting to resolve the issue.Review from Kayla G

I am just going to very honest about this review with Tower Loan. I signed the paperwork for my loan in 2023 around ***** started experiencing financial hardship while paying 168 monthly payment to my account that they stated they didn't receive but I was looking at my account and it was taken out. I contacted them to see if I could get my payments lowered or pay them in half because they had to be sent in between the 4th and 15th. So a few months after and fell behind on another bill. I was offered to renew the loan in December of 2023 which was perfect for the time of year under the Manager ***** S/W ******* Branch (who no longer works with the company as she was terminated). I was told over the phone that the renewal would allow me space and time until Feb 2024 which at the time was fine but of course life has no blue print. In the midst of signing my sanity away she said my payments are now $197 I didn't know my payments would increase you never said that they would increase I was looking to decrease" and mind you I had already started signing these papers half way through. So for my first Feb 2024 payment I wasn't able to make it. Fast forward I am only 9 months in on my renewed loan and currently playing catch up. Life's hardships have increased everything's HIGH and so is my bill I'm in on about 4 thousand dollars due and as of today $699 behind and most of these payments were because of my health and not being able to work to even make the payments. I recently just made a payment in August which was put towards a missed payment. September I was out sick on bedrest not working at all I have done a deferral for payment and nothing else is helping I can't afford twice a month payments which I started doing but it was hard. I told them today I could bring a payment on the 17th from my check but she wants it by the 14th and I don't have anyone else I can borrow from to secure this payment so after that I'm sure they'll send me in for garnishment. Tower attempts to work with any customer experiencing temporary difficulties. My review of the account comments indicate Tower has attempted to work with the borrower. Tower originates loans in compliance with Mississippi and Federal law. All loans are voluntary and a borrower may cancel an origination at any time during the loan process. Ms. ****** was fully informed of the terms and conditions associated with her loan.Review from Dollie S

I have work with Tower Loans for years and now this office on **********************************************************************************************************************. Has been very unprofessional in the last few months, where there are disrespectful harassing customers making threats to file civil litigation.When people are still making their payments. Bullying to the point where they tried to make me lose my job does not respect chain a command. Manipulation also retaliation. This particular office is not even listed.Tower Loan Response

I have reviewed the two accounts referred to in this complaint. It appears the Branch Manager has intervened and will service the accounts going forward. However, I do not see any activity that would be deemed as bullying or harassing.Review from Heather L

I have 2 accounts in good standing with this company. Have NEVER missed a payment and they harass me in the same manner as someone who had missed many monthly payments. I have nicely questioned this practice in the past and was told that it wouldn't happen again, yet it has again. So today, it aggravated me and while I was trying to voice a complaint to the manager, he literally put me on hold the entire time I was talking, making it very evident he had ZERO interest in hearing how I felt as a customer that is in GOOD STANDING with their company and when I questioned him on what I said to see if he even heard a bit of it, he laughed and said "well it was a lot" that is what sent me! It was never a "I understand how you feel, but I have to call this much", zero explanation, NOTHING!! They really make GOOD customers want to NEVER do business with them again! This is when I told him I would NEVER recommend them to anyone and NEVER do business with them again... he didn't care about that either, told me "Ok, great, have a good day and hung up! As a manager myself, this is BAD BAD business practices! Even if you can't fix the problem, even if there is zero you can do, you at the VERY LEAST "act" like you care what a GOOD customer feels like is being done to them, smh! You would think they cared about retaining good customers who PAY THEIR BILLS EVERY MONTH and about ensuring they would want to do business with them again, this office obviously does not! I cannot speak on other locations. There are at least 2 nice employees in that office that I've dealt with, but the way the "manager" dealt with my VALID complaint was complete TRASH! All that I wanted was to feel like I was being heard and that I had a valid complaint, again.. he could have cared less!! A little bit of "I understand you're upset" goes a long way! In general, Tower will attempt to contact customers that have a payment due in an attempt to help the customer from incurring a late charge. In some cases customers take offense to these reminder calls. My review of the account records in this case do not indicate any wrongdoing by Tower.Review from Kherstin S

My estranged sister has a loan through them and was late on a payment. They called ME 2 x in less than an hour trying to reach her. They also called my other sisters husband. I am not associated with this acct in ANY way and felt harassed by them. Not even sure how they got my name and number but its bad practice and should be illegal to call family members over a short term installment loan that prolly has incredibly predatory interest rates.Tower Loan Response

Without the name of the actual account holder my response if based on Tower policy. Tower attempts to work with any customer that is experiencing temporary difficulties; when that customer does not maintain an active line of communication Tower will contact persons listed by the customer as a personal reference or persons with a high probability of being in contact with the customer that are obtained from a commonly used collection tool. In either case, once a non-signer asks Tower not to contact them, Tower will cease communication with that person.Review from Jason M

My review of account comments do not support ******************** allegations, in fact, they are to the contrary. On September 10, 2024 **************** contacted Tower and was combative from the onset; he was upset that he was unable to access Tower's online payment portal. When it was explained to him the reason the online payment portal was no longer an option for him, he threatened "legal" action against Tower. He was advised the ways he could make payment and the Branch Manager ended the conversation. There has been no wrongdoing by Tower in this matter.Review from Elizabeth R

Customer Service rep are rude and not clear on their own policies. They will come to your house for an $80 payment and claim that they can legally do that. They will also deny you their own policies at their own discretion without notice.Tower Loan Response

At first the branch in ********** told me I was approved for 400$ I originally asked for 1500$ so i accepted it after being harassed for months about a guaranteed approval and then after i verified my income which was roughly about 3500 a month instead of 4500 that I put on the application they denied me?! After I depended on this loan I will be filing a complaint because I was told I was approved weeks ago!Tower Loan Response

**Complaint: ***************************** at *********************** - Kenner Branch**I am writing to file a formal complaint against Tower Loans in Kenner, specifically regarding the unprofessional and unacceptable behavior of managers ********* *** and ***************************.On Friday, as I do every week when I get paid, I made a minimum payment to my account. However, on the following Monday, I was told that if I didn't make another payment, my account would be pushed to collections. This communication was highly distressing, especially considering I had just made a payment.During my phone conversation with ********* ***, I attempted to explain my situation and express my concerns. Unfortunately, she repeatedly interrupted me with dismissive "okay, okay, okay" responses after every other word I said. This lack of genuine communication and empathy was extremely frustrating, leading me to express my anger, at which point she abruptly hung up on me.Attempting to resolve the situation, I called back to apologize and continue the conversation. However, ******************************* up on me again and subsequently refused to answer my calls, redirecting me to another manager, ***************************. When I asked for **********************'s name, *************************** refused to provide it. It wasn't until I visited the branch in person that I was able to obtain their names.This entire experience was profoundly unprofessional and unacceptable. I strongly urge Tower Loans to review the recording of this phone call and conduct a thorough investigation into the customer service practices at the Kenner branch. It is crucial that steps be taken to address this behavior and ensure that customers are treated with the respect and consideration they deserve.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I have reviewed the records of this account and **********************'s version varies greatly from the customers. In fact, prior to July 12th, the account in question was severely past due with no plan in place to resolve it as no payment had been received since June 6. ******************************** language towards Tower employee's is what lead to the phone calls being terminated. Tower will not tolerate repeated vulgar language from any customer. If ************************** would like to have an adult conversation, he may contact the branch manager at ************. TIn general at Tower, when an account continues to stay past due and there are NO payment arrangements offered or accepted by Tower to resolve the delinquency, an account will be referred for legal action. My review of records indicates Tower handled this situation appropriately based on the behavior and communication received from the customer.Review from Megan B

I initially used them in June 2023 and had no issues up until I moved out of state. To work on my financial restraints after moving I was needing a 10 day pay off quote. I called and spoke to ******* and he was very adamant that he could not email or mail me a letter with that quote. Finally, he agreed to mail and email me a letter so I could pay off my balance after I reviewed the documents. 2 weeks later I spoke to him again and he became aggravated as I informed him I never received that letter. I looked through spam, deleted, and my inbox with no letter. I asked him to resend it, in which he became aggressive and stated I was 3 months behind. I have receipt proof of my last payment made on 6/8/24. When I informed him that Im working to pay it off completely but need that later he rudely said its $54. At this point I did get irritated and stated I understand he is just doing his job and what I have going on with my finances doesnt concern him but Im trying to get this paid for completely and to send me the letter. He responded by hanging up on me. I will never use them again, the customer service is absolutely awful and instead of finding ways to help their clients they treat them poorly and become condescending.Tower Loan Response

Tower does not allow its manager to email customers. ********************** did receive a single payment on July 12, 2024, however the account continues to be past due and there were no follow up arrangements provided by the customer. Without proactive arrangements from the customer, ********************** has no choice but to contact the customer in an attempt to ****** those arrangements. My review of records does not indicate any wrongdoing by Tower.
