On September 02, 2021, I signed a contract to have a new HVAC system installed into my mother's to-be renovated home. The home had a furnace and we were updating. I am one of my mother's power of attorneys and the home address is *** ***** ****** ************** *****. The contract was signed with ***** ******** at his place of business with a demand of $3000 up front. On September 08, I sent a text to ***** stating " I am here at the house and the furnace is still not installed. What is the problem? I paid you $3000 a week ago tomorrow and see no work has occurred". ***** did come and remove the furnace, but the construction owner (*****'s friend and person that recommended him) asked that not too many be in the house while his crew was there. By October 14, ***** had not installed any parts to the unit so I again sent him a text asking about the matter. I went back and forth with ***** because he said the crew sealed the access hole and they were responsible for putting it back. After speaking with the construction owner, he stated that ***** was responsible for cutting his own access hole. I asked ***** to cut the hole on October 27. Instead of cutting a hole, ***** says he found a way to go through the back of my mom's house (without consent from us) and laid copper. Eventually ***** began to respond slower to my texts and seldom returned any of my phone calls. On November 22, I called ***** from my sister's cell phone and he answered. I relayed that if he could not have the HVAC fully installed by November 23, that he could remove all parts and return $3000 to me. He had the unit completely (so we thought) installed on the 23. On December 4, the home inspector found that my ailing 70 year old mother's bedroom does not have air nor heat. I called ***** and he agreed to take a look at the issue on December 6 or 7. I called on the 7th and he said he would try to make it by. To my knowledge, he has not shown up nor corrected the problem. ***** has been paid $3980.
