On feb 2023 was working in ********** proyect mi car broke down on me tri to find a mechanic I went to cmc diesel on ********** ** they could not bring car in till march 1 so I hade to stay in hotels from feb 14 till march 7 wen I realize staying in hotel was going to ruin mi budget so I hade to get a rental car march 8 at *************************** got the car for 2 weeks giving mechanics enough time to finish car so far I hade spend 1800-2000 in ********** car rental **** , tow truck to mechanic Lyft transportation on the 8 th march to get rental 80$ its 21 I hade return rental car steel not done yet they been saying whaiting por parts they se d me the estimated fir **** for head gasket replacement so I sign it and approve it march 30 steel whaithing on a part for a month estimate of car suddenly change to ********************************************************************************************************************************** I guess its April Saturday 15 to pik mi car and I realize and figured out the scam that they were tying to pull first wen I pik up car it was a new ****** of ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** signature from computer and attached it to the new estimate that it was allready sign by mi , I axuly never sign that estimete I just stay quite pay the *************** I jump in mi car check engine light its on so I went back to ask hem about that and he said that he did not know why the code came I told hem listen I hade never have a problem with that wen I bring the car in that code was not there and I also bring to hes attention about what they did on signing with mi approval and that I dont think thats axuly legal and the mechanic rigth away said listen im sorry if we missed up ur car we will fix it he said and he try to forget about the matter so now after mi car being in shop for 1 month and haf whaithing fir it it have a new problem that they said they were going to fix but why they did not tell me anything about that , *** he literally just said that he change for all the stuff that need to be fix why he did not fix that problem i cronfort mechanic and told hem that I was not idiot to not knowing he missed mi car up he apologize he want me to take car back thats meaning I will not having a car for I dont know how long , I find this really bad they literally charging me for parts that they not change I went under mi hood we. I get home and all the parts are steel the same I got prove also on top of mi ******************* to pay 3.5 % fur paying with mi debit card end up being 133 dollars ************ with mi car wich I belive its also inlegall I want them to take responsibility fixing what they allready got payed for i hade spend **** for head gasket they charge me parts 2 times they said they change the termostat wen I the report wen I take car in I specifically said thermostat and water pump are new no need to change but they charge me for it even . That they did not putting nothing on it I got proof of everything that Iam testing from dates rates car rental evrithing I hade payed car in full but they did not fix the problem its really stressing sence I need mi car for work this persons have show me the way they rob ppl and ppl that dont know and this ppl ruins there lifes I dont know if I could *** this shop for all the lies and things that they hade me paying its ridiculous to be honest I really dont have more money to rent a car again so I can go work wile they do finish mi car that not mi problem I think they need to pay me for what they did usually mechanics wen there done with job they give u all the old pieces and part that they replace fur extras but they did not show me what they said they did plus I realize that they use same parts that car hade but they charge me like if they order it I know this cuz I try fix mi car mi self so I know whats under mi good horrible experience I regret hade taking mi car there please help me outBusiness response

In regard to *************************** complaint, there are a few facts that are missing.
1. The vehicle arrived at our shop after having previously been in a front-end accident. The customer attempted to straighten out the front-end grill, fender, head light and front fascia with wood screws.
2. We diagnosed the customer complaint as a failed head gasket. We applied air to the coolant system at 15 PSI. ******* was profusely leaking where the head and cylinder gasket meets. (We have video of these results.)
3. We did advise ***** of the findings. We started work on the head gasket repair. When we pulled the front cover, we found that the timing chain was out of time with the marks on the sprockets. At this time ***** signed the approval to work on the timing. We have it timed stamped on our system.
4. We also noticed while draining the coolant that there was a heavy metallic substance in the coolant. (We collected the sample and still have it). Upon investigation we found that it was Stop Leak that the customer put in to "solve/fix" his leaking head gasket. We advised ***** that with this level of repair we are doing the radiator should be replaced. Also, that we need to flush the heater core and cylinder block to remove as much of the Stop Leak as possible.
5. When we removed the radiator, we noticed that the support and mounts for the radiator were broken- (most likely caused by the previous accident)
6. The horns for the vehicle were laying on the skid plate (unattached to anything). The active air shutter was also broken due to the accident.
7. The cylinder head went to the machine shop and the machinist reported that the cylinder head was **** warped and that the only way that could happen was if the engine got extremely hot. He was able to machine it back to spec.
In regard to the signature
***** verbally approved the cylinder head gasket repair minus the Machinist bill due to not knowing the price of that until the repair was complete. Original estimate for the gasket job was $2380 but with the machine shop bill it became $2588.83. On 3/30/23 @ 11:36am we sent ***** an estimate for the timing job. On 3/30/23 @ 11:37am ***** approved the estimate for the timing job by signature that was estimated to be $1265.99.
In regard to the check engine light
The codes that "flagged" when ***** picked his vehicle up was U1504- impassable message data length received from steering angle sensor and P05A5- active grill air stutter 1 control circuit low. Explained to the customer that the codes were pre-existing and most likely caused by the accident.
In regard to the mechanic saying "we were going to fix the problem".... we don't know what he is talking about or even what he is referring to.
In regard to us not changing parts out. Every part on the bill DID get replaced. The vehicle is no longer leaking coolant out of the head gasket and also the timing is now replaced and set correctly. Radiator is also new.
In regard to the 3.5% processing fee. We used to just add 3.5% to the customer's bill upon finding out that they were using a card. We went with a new card processing center where instead of charging CMC Diesel for the processing fees, they automatically now charge the card that is being used. This is NOT illegal. We just don't hide the fee in the bill. We even have a sign on our counter that states this and also inform every customer that this fee will be charged, and we have no way of changing it.
In regard to the double charge. We went through the ***************** by line with ***** on the day that he picked up his vehicle. We will admit that the wrong timing set that we had received was still on his invoice. We removed it off of his invoice. When it comes to the thermostat, we did take the thermostat off his bill even though we did change out the thermostat and the new one was still in the vehicle.
Most mechanic shops will discard any/all used parts unless the customer requests to have them back. We do not bring customers back to the shop and physically show them every part that is going on their vehicle.
There is a lot of complaints from ***** about CMC Diesel being responsible for rental car and hotel expenses. We are not responsible for this and will not be compensating him. CMC Diesel will also not refund, adjust, or negotiate any part of the invoice. Let it also be known that ***** did not pay for his entire invoice. He did not have enough and had a co-worker of his help pay for it.
