I went to the Cold Stone Creamery in Poyner Village in Raleigh, NC on Friday, June 10th around 5:40 pm. I walked in and noticed signs through the store saying something along the lines of "We are no longer mixing in toppings with the ice cream. Toppings will only be placed on top. Sorry for the inconvenience." There were flies throughout the store and 5 "employees" standing around in street clothes; you couldn't tell which ones were working there. None of them were wearing appropriate clothing and you couldn't identify if a manager was on duty. One man was standing around wearing a burgundy white beater and black jeans. Another girl was wearing blue jeans and a black spaghetti strap tank top. She also had long brownish blonde weave down to her mid back and was not wearing a hair net. The girl who helped me was wearing a hair net and a Cold Stone shirt at least. Against my better judgement, I still ordered because I wanted to treat my child to some ice cream. I ordered a kids cup of cake batter ice cream with sprinkles on top and a like it size cake batter ice cream with Snickers and marshmallows for myself. My child's order looked as it should, but I paid over $6 for a cup of cake batter, 5 marshmallows and Snickers stuck on top of it. Not only this but the girl with the long weave didn't have gloves on while she was making the order of the person behind me, and her hair was so long it was on the countertops. After I left, we ate our ice cream and mine was disgusting. If I wanted a cup of ice cream with no mix-ins, I would go elsewhere. Mixing in toppings is their specialty and I just felt this was complete laziness on their part. After some contemplation, I contacted the Cold Stone in Brier Creek and asked if they were doing the same thing and if this was a new company wide policy to save money. She said "no, we are still doing mix-ins." I left corporate a voicemail and sent an email that same evening and haven't heard anything in over 2 weeks.
